Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (361) - SAILING 1200M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 JUMBO TREASURE (K249) K C Leung K C Leung reported that his mount travelled well in the lead but became immediately under pressure when challenged by PI LEGEND near the 300 Metres before giving ground thereafter.
Trainer W K Mo stated that the horse was disadvantaged by having to be used up from a wide barrier to go forward carrying the top weight of 133 lbs.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 HAROLD WIN (J280) C L Chau Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 4 AURIO (K056) J Orman When questioned, J Orman stated that the instructions were to find a midfield position with cover if possible.
He said in the early stages when caught wide and to the outside of LUCKY TOGETHER he then elected near the 800 Metres to ride his mount forward in an attempt to cross LUCKY TOGETHER and hold a position behind GIANT LEAP.
He added as he did so LIFELINE EXPRESS shifted out and as a consequence he was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Orman were reasonable in the circumstances.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 IGOR STRAVINSKY (K086) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY which shifted in.
Horse No 6 DANICA'S CHOICE (L096) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
K Teetan reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
Horse No 7 PEGAS (L075) M Guyon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 PI LEGEND (L117) Z Purton Z Purton reported that his left foot made contact with the running board of the barrier structure on jumping.
He added that he was able to hold a position outside the lead but his mount gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight.
Z Purton was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 AUTOMATED (K177) R Kingscote Hung out making the Home Turn.

Horse No 11 GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY (K002) M L Yeung Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 12 LET'S HAVE FUN (L118) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Raced greenly throughout the early and middle stages.
Near the 750 Metres became unbalanced and lost ground when racing tight to the inside of DANICA'S CHOICE (K Teetan) which shifted in and away from LUCKY TOGETHER.
K Teetan was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 14 GIANT LEAP (J143) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Pegas settled one off in third from gate four before surging to the lead 150m and keeping on for a first local win at his fourth start. He did stay on better for fourth last start when trying 1,200m. Aurio finished strongly with three wider out after making his run five back and four deep without cover from gate 12. It was a huge run in defeat carrying 7lb less in a higher grade following a win. Lifeline Express ran on well for third after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. He was able to build on a closing fourth last start. Goldentronicmighty ran on well for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was another pleasing effort after a second last start. Harold Win was a grinding fifth after a handy run on the fence. It was another honest effort, but he might be better suited over 1,400m nowadays.
