Race Six : (359) - SWIMMING 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 TOP TIME (K006) Z Purton Between the 400 Metres and the 150 Metres was badly held up for clear running behind SUPER MASTERMIND.
Horse No 2 NYX GLUCK (K438) C L Chau In the early stages raced keenly and got its head up when racing to the inside of ALABAMA SONG.
Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 THOUSAND SPIRIT (K365) L Hewitson When questioned L Hewitson stated that his instructions were to lead.
He said on jumping THOUSAND SPIRIT bounded and lost ground.
He said as he was positioned behind the majority of the field, soon after the start he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to find cover.
Horse No 4 ALABAMA SONG (K480) A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that with his mount stepping up in distance today it began well and was able to hold a more forward position without being pressure to do so.
Horse No 5 AMAZING PARTNERS (K554) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 VICTOR SUPREME (K547) D B McMonagle Jumped awkwardly.
Held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres.
When endeavouring to obtain a doubtful run near the 150 Metres between NYX GLUCK and ALABAMA SONG which was giving ground VICTOR SUPREME struck the heels of ALABAMA SONG and blundered.
D B McMonagle was advised in similar circumstances he must exercise more care and ensure there is sufficient room when improving.
Horse No 7 CIRCUIT GOGO (L002) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Horse No 9 GOLDEN FORTUNE (K500) K C Leung K C Leung reported that his mount began well from the outside barrier and with the pace of the event being run outside of standard time it held a more forward position than intended.
He added that when unable to cross runners to his inside GOLDEN FORTUNE was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 12 AMAZING FUN (H442) H Bentley Leaving the 1000 Metres shifted in and away from THOUSAND SPIRIT and as a result became unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 DASHING MAURISON (K374) R Kingscote Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 14 DR GOLDEN GENERAL (K412) M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No JUST FOLLOW ME (K332) K Teetan Withdrawn on 16.1.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SUPER MASTERMIND.
Before being allowed to race again, JUST FOLLOW ME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Amazing Partners travelled wide with cover in midfield before hitting the front 150m oiut and holding on by a lip for a maiden win at his third start. Specked late Amazing Fun finished strongly through the centre to make it close on the wire after a patient ride third last. He relished a step back to the 1,400m of a hard-charging fifth two runs ago. Heavily backed Thousand Spirit ran on well near the outside for third after a wide trip travelling three from the rear. He's run well to place in two of three starts down in Class Four. Circuit Gogo just got up for fourth after making his run behind midfield on the fence. He's heading in the right direction after running on for sevenths in his first three starts. Favourite Nyx Gluck only plodded when getting held up for a run between the 400m and 250m following a one-off trip from better than midfield.
