Recap by phillip woo

Cool Boy had a handy run one off the fence before hitting the lead 100m out and proving much too smart for a second straight win and third from three starts. Circuit Champion closed strongly four deep to grab second after a one-off trip from midfield. It was an eye-catching debut run from the $5.4 million local sales graduate. Vigor Eye found a couple too smart after dictating the pace from gate one. He's not far off a win after filling the frame in all three starts. Genius Baby ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. He's held his form for fourths in back-to-back runs after a win. Sea Chariot made good ground late for fifth after biding his time second last from gate 12. It was an improved effort with a step back in distance at his fourth start this term.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two : (355) - CYCLING 1200M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 COOL BOY (L014) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 SEA CHARIOT (K358) M Guyon Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start.

Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start.

Jumped only fairly.

When questioned M Guyon stated that after settling back in the field he placed his mount under pressure near the 500 Metres to improve.

He said as he did so SEA CHARIOT commenced to hang in and when EVERYONE'S GALLOP, which was racing in advance of him, shifted out this resulted in SEA CHARIOT improving to the inside of the heels of that runner.

He said as a consequence and due to the racing manners of his horse he elected to shift to the inside of I EXCELLE to obtain clear running and then was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres behind YOUNG LEGACY before finishing the race off well thereafter.

The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Guyon were reasonable in the circumstances.

Horse No 4 CIRCUIT CHAMPION (J428) M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 I EXCELLE (K502) A Atzeni Between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind YOUNG LEGACY.

When questioned A Atzeni stated that his mount bounded on jumping and lost ground at the start.

He said approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres, after being crossed by YOUNG LEGACY, I EXCELLE commenced to race keenly and when being steadied away from YOUNG LEGACY did not respond to his efforts to restrain and as a result he was obliged to check his mount to avoid YOUNG LEGACY which resulted in I EXCELLE becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

Horse No 8 TYCOON EXPRESS (K376) C Y Ho On jumping shifted out abruptly and was then steadied when it made contact with PATCH OF TIME.

Horse No 10 YOUNG LEGACY (K465) K C Leung Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.

Shortly after YOUNG LEGACY then raced tight between COOL BOY and RUBY SAILING.

Horse No 11 RUBY SAILING (H347) M Chadwick Bumped on jumping.

M Chadwick stated that after obtaining a position outside the leader in the early stages RUBY SAILING did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and may have been disadvantaged by the middle stages being run inside of standard time.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 12 PATCH OF TIME (H483) L Hewitson Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping.

L Hewitson stated that his instructions were to go forward.

He said although PATCH OF TIME commenced well, after travelling a short distance his mount did not show sufficient pace to cross runners to his inside and as a result he elected to obtain a trailing position.

He added after being placed under pressure making the Home Turn PATCH OF TIME did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg.

The performance of PATCH OF TIME, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, PATCH OF TIME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 13 BOWSER (H460) A Badel A Badel stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to cross runners to his inside which resulted in it being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, BOWSER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 14 EVERYONE'S GALLOP (K140) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly.
