Recap by phillip woo

Super Hong Kong was ridden patiently fourth last and ran home nicely to grab Romantic Fantasy 100m out for a sixth win at his 58th start and second from seven outings this season. Romantic Fantasy found one better on the day after rushing to the lead 200m out following a breeze-punching run three deep for the early part from gate 10. All Are Mine made up heaps of ground late down the outside for third after making his run at the back from gate eight. It was a much-improved effort. Cool Blue got the head down late for fourth after getting held up for a good part of the straight following a five-back run on the fence. He should have finished closer. Chateau Le Peche ran on late through the centre to just miss fourth prize money after a one-off trip from behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (354) - RUGBY SEVENS 2000M HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2000Meters

Horse No 1 IRON LEGION (J459) M Chadwick After being placed in the starting gates reared and got its right front leg over the starting gate for a short period.

IRON LEGION was removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start.

After again being placed in the starting gates reared and then as a consequence was slow to begin.

The barrier manners of IRON LEGION were considered unacceptable.

The Stewards ruled that IRON LEGION will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in a barrier trial before being allowed to race again.

Held up for clear running making the Home Turn.

M Chadwick stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after being slow to begin he was unable to do so.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 FURY AND GOLD (H202) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Bumped near the 900 Metres.

H Bentley stated that after the horse made a wide run from the 800 Metres he became concerned with its action in the Home Straight and as a result he did not fully ride it out to the finish of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, FURY AND GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 ON THE LASH (J182) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that from barrier 1 his mount jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with LEATHER MASTER and as a consequence was unable to lead.

He said, in his opinion, ON THE LASH is better suited when being able to dictate in front.

Trainer P N Ng concurred with the views expressed by Jockey Ferraris.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
