Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (352) - CANNES HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MAGIC CONTROL (J333) C L Chau C L Chau stated that his mount travelled well although caught wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
He added after being bumped by HARMONY N BLESSED near the 300 Metres MAGIC CONTROL did not run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 STORM RIDER (J027) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SON PAK FU (G265) M Chadwick On jumping was checked to avoid YOUTHFUL SPIRITS which shifted in abruptly.
Approaching the finish shifted in, made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.
Horse No 4 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris Shifted in abruptly on jumping and made heavy contact with SON PAK FU.
Horse No 6 BRAVE STAR (G268) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 CRIMSON FLASH (K173) A Atzeni Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 PACKING BOLE (H246) H T Mo The performance of PACKING BOLE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, PACKING BOLE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) L Hewitson Near the 350 Metres was bumped heavily by GUSTOSISIMO and taken wider.
Approaching the 50 Metres, when giving ground, was eased to avoid MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 10 MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE (J325) K Teetan Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 11 REGAL GEM (K258) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 GUSTOSISIMO (J303) M Guyon Bumped at the start.
Near the 350 Metres GUSTOSISIMO was checked to avoid PACKING BOLE when that runner commenced to give ground, resulting in its rider M Guyon shifting to the outside of PACKING BOLE and making heavy contact with HARMONY N BLESSED, resulting in both runners becoming badly unbalanced.
M Guyon was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure that there is sufficient room to improve so that he does not cause interference to his own mount and other runners.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Storm Rider landed fifth on the rails from barrier one and after switching into the centre of the track off the turn, he took over 150m out and never looked back. It was a third win from his last four and backed up a Group Three score off 10lb lower rating. Regal Gem settled one out with cover just behind midfield and after spinning wide into the straight, he stuck on well into second. He appreciated a return to 1,200m. Brave Star travelled to the inside of that rival and after racing tight on the turn, he stuck to his task near the inside for third. He might be near his mark after a win in November. Well backed into favourite, Gustosisimo travelled one off in midfield but was impeded on the turn by the retreating Packing Bole, before charging into fourth late near the inside. He can go down as unlucky. Masterofmyuniverse had only one behind him and after moving up with menance on the turn, he was held up for a run for a large portion of the straight into a never-nearer fifth. He was also very unfortunate. Son Pak Fu whacked away for sixth after being a detached last for much of the journey before sticking on up the rail.
