Recap by phillip woo

China Win faded back to travel fourt last from gate 14 but quickened nicely to win going away 150m out for a first win at his seventh start. Post-time favourite Audacious Pursuit finished well down the outside for second after making his run at the rear from gate 13. It was a solid effort carrying equal topweight with a step up to 1,800m. Early favourite Volcanic Spark ran on well for third after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. He's building towards a win. Charity Together made good ground late for fourth after straightening with two wider out travelling second last. He's hit the line well in each of his three starts following a downgrade. Young Bravo made a mild bid following a one-off trip from midfield. It was an OK effort carrying a share of topweight following a Valley win.

Horse No 10 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) M Guyon Jumped only fairly.

R Kingscote (LUCK IS BACK) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1400 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of VOLCANIC SPARK, resulting in VOLCANIC SPARK having to be checked.

R Kingscote was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 28 January 2026 at Happy Valley.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.

Horse No 13 OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated although he was asked to ensure that his mount commenced well it was not his intention to lead.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
