Solid Win settled better than midfield on the rails, straightened three deep and got the gaps when required to overhaul favourite Corleone in the concluding stages for a third win and first in this grade from 19 starts. Corleone found one too good after leading 100m out following a handy run near the inside from gate four. It was another good run up in grade following back-to-back wins. Young Achiever weaved a run near the inside for third after biding his time second last from gate nine. He proved a rallying fourth at huge odds last start over the dirt 1,650m was not a fluke. King Lotus kept on one paced over the final 100m for fourth after peeling three wide and following the early move of Lo Pan Spirit 500m out following a prominent run. It was another honest effort. A Americ Te Specso ran on nicely with one wider out for fifth after making his run at the back from gate 12. It was a good effort carrying top weight following a win. Fivefortwo made a decent bid late down the outside for sixth after a wide trip travelling third last. It was an encouraging effort in a higher grade following an upset win last start.

Race Nine : (333) - DES VOEUX HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 2 LOCH TAY (K356) R Kingscote On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by CORLEONE which shifted out.

Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied when crowded by CORLEONE which shifted out abruptly when being checked to avoid ANOTHER ZONDA.

Horse No 3 KING LOTUS (K186) L Hewitson Shortly after the start became unbalanced when it was bumped by LOCH TAY.

Horse No 4 YOUNG ACHIEVER (J291) H Bentley On jumping was crowded between ANOTHER ZONDA and BEAUTY GLORY which was taken out.

Held up making the Home Turn and near the 350 Metres was steadied to avoid SOLID WIN.

Approaching the 100 Metres raced tight between LO PAN SPIRIT and KING LOTUS when improving into a narrow run between those runners and as a result made contact with LO PAN SPIRIT.

Horse No 5 ANOTHER ZONDA (K176) J Orman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 LO PAN SPIRIT (J233) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover throughout the early and middle stages.

From the 700 Metres was ridden forward where it obtained the lead passing the 600 Metres.

Bumped near the 100 Metres.

Horse No 7 CORLEONE (J426) M Guyon Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Near the 350 Metres was bumped by SOLID WIN.

Bumped by SOLID WIN near the 200 Metres.

When questioned M Guyon stated that approaching the 500 Metres his mount commenced to race keenly when BEAUTY GLORY was unable to quicken.

He said as a result he shifted to the outside of BEAUTY GLORY and was then checked to avoid ANOTHER ZONDA when that runner did not improve into the race.

He said as a consequence he was obliged to shift out to avoid ANOTHER ZONDA and made contact with LOCH TAY.

M Guyon was advised in similar circumstances to exercise more care and to ensure that he gives his mounts sufficient clearance from runners in front when shifting ground.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 FIVEFORTWO (K381) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with BEAUTY GLORY.

After the 500 Metres shifted out abruptly when improving to the outside of FANTASTIC FUN.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) A Badel Jumped only fairly.

Held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.

Horse No 10 FANTASTIC FUN (J364) K Teetan Approaching the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by LOCH TAY.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 SOLID WIN (J225) M F Poon Making the Home Turn became unbalanced when it made contact with CORLEONE whilst being shifted to the outside of ANOTHER ZONDA to obtain clear running.

Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running when improving into a narrow run between KING LOTUS and CORLEONE which shifted in slightly and as a result made contact with CORLEONE near the 200 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 BEAUTY GLORY (E459) Y L Chung Bumped heavily on jumping.

Y L Chung stated that he had to make some use of his mount in the early stages to lead which resulted in the pace of the event being run inside of standard time.

He said as a result BEAUTY GLORY was unable to run on in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
