Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (322) - TAI TONG SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SWIFT ASCEND (H395) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 DRAGON FOUR SEAS (J317) C L Chau C L Chau reported that his mount failed to stretch out which he attributed to the horse racing on the All Weather surface.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of DRAGON FOUR SEAS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON FOUR SEAS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) A Badel When commencing to give ground near the 150 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between BLAZING WIND and HERBAL STAR which lay out.
A Badel advised that the horse was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 VICTORY SKY (J540) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 BLAZING WIND (J157) M Guyon On jumping became unbalanced when it bumped with GOOD LUCK BABE due to both runners shifting ground.
Horse No 8 FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232) M F Poon Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
M F Poon stated that whilst the horse was able to lead the race it did not travel strongly and when under pressure in the Home Straight raced "flat" Trainer F C Lor stated that after jumping awkwardly Jockey Poon had to make some use of the horse in the early stages to hold the lead and also, in his opinion, was not assisted by being pressured in the lead by VICTORY SKY, particularly with the middle stages being run slightly inside of standard time.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) A Atzeni On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by FUN N FUN TOGETHER which shifted out.
Near the 1100 Metres got its head up when being shifted behind FUN N FUN TOGETHER.
Horse No 10 GIANT LEAP (J143) K Teetan Bumped after travelling a short distance.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) Y L Chung On jumping became unbalanced when it bumped with BLAZING WIND due to both runners shifting ground.
After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when it made contact with GIANT LEAP.
Horse No 12 HERBAL STAR (L053) H T Mo Near the 50 Metres was accidentally struck across its head by the whip of M Guyon, rider of BLAZING WIND.

Favourite Victory Sky enjoyed a speed-tracking run from gate three and after hitting the lead 300m, out he was too smart for back-to-back wins following a switch to dirt racing from 17 starts. He remains one to follow on this surface. Swift Ascend ran well but found one too good after a one out, one-back run. It was a good performance carrying top weight following a downgrade. Blazing Wind ran on nicely near the outside for third after a patient ride fourth last from gate 11. It was another honest performance on this surface. Armour War Eagle surged late from behind midfield to just edge Must Go for fourth. It was a pleasing first effort on the surface. Must Go was given every chance in the box seat but just plodded when asked for more. Specked late Herbal Star kept on next best after a handy run wide and with cover. It was a better effort at his third local start.
