Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (320) - LEIGHTON HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 SAGACIOUS LIFE (K507) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SOLEIL FIGHTER (J127) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 LO RIDER (K161) H Bentley Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 200 Metres.
Horse No 5 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 400 Metres was bumped by DARYL FLASH which shifted to the outside of SAGACIOUS LIFE.
K Teetan stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result could not run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 WINFIELD (K446) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.
Making the first turn near the 900 Metres lay in towards the running rail and became unbalanced.
L Hewitson stated that after leading the event his mount gave ground in the Home Straight and would derive a fitness benefit from today's first up performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 CHIU CHOW SPIRIT (H175) M Guyon Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was bumped by YOUNG CHAMPION and as a result was steadied to avoid DARYL FLASH.
Approaching the 700 Metres made contact with TOP DRAGON and was taken wider when TOP DRAGON improved into a tight run between DARYL FLASH and CHIU CHOW SPIRIT.
Near the 450 Metres was bumped by TOP DRAGON when it prevented TOP DRAGON from shifting out.
Horse No 8 TOP DRAGON (J481) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 700 Metres raced in restricted room between DARYL FLASH and CHIU CHOW SPIRIT.
Approaching the 400 Metres was disappointed for clear running between YOUNG CHAMPION and CHIU CHOW SPIRIT.
For a short distance near the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 9 KARMA (G392) M L Yeung Near the 700 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from LO RIDER.
Between the 350 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 10 WINDLORD (L184) M Chadwick Slow to begin.
Horse No 11 DARYL FLASH (L168) M F Poon Near the 400 Metres made contact with YOUNG CHAMPION when being shifted to the outside of SAGACIOUS LIFE.
Horse No 4 VOYAGE SAMURAI (J026) K C Leung Withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).
Before being allowed to race again, VOYAGE SAMURAI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sagacious Life had a one-off trip travelling fourth and after claiming the lead from Soleil Fighter 160m out, he edged clear for a second win from three local starts. He was able to get back on track following an unlucky sixth last start. Soleil Fighter found one too good after leading 280m out following a speed-tracking run from gate one. He continues to race well without winning across both tracks. Top Dragon ran on well for third after getting held up for a good part of the straight following a patient ride two from the rear. It was a solid run in defeat despite a rise in trip. Chiu Chow Spirit whacked on one paced over the last 100m with his bid down the outside following a wide trip ridden near the rear. It was one of his better efforts from four starts over 1,600m. Windlord stayed on all right for fifth after a prominent run on the fence. It was an okay effort at his first local run.
