Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (282) - SPRUCE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 MASTER OF ALL (H177) C Y Ho Blundered on jumping, shifted in and made contact with STELLAR SWIFT.
C Y Ho reported that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to hold a forward position, but when unable to cross runners in the early stages MASTER OF ALL was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
He added as a consequence his mount was unable to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CHEAHA (K567) Y L Chung Had difficulty obtaining clear running near the 300 Metres when positioned behind COLOURFUL GAN.
Horse No 5 SILO (J399) J McDonald Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 6 KEMPES (J265) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 7 DO YOUR PART (J444) H Bowman Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Near the 150 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between SKY JOY and CALIFORNIA WAVES.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 CALIFORNIA WAVES (K477) B Avdulla Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 COLOURFUL GAN (L054) M Guyon Jumped only fairly.
In the middle stages raced keenly and was steadied to avoid RIDING TOGETHER near the 800 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres was held up behind MASTER OF ALL which was giving ground.
Horse No 11 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) H Bentley Made contact with a rail when entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 12 WOLF COMING (K353) K C Leung K C Leung reported that the intention was to hold a handy position.
He said when his mount commenced well and raced keenly in the early stages he allowed it to stride forward and lead.
Horse No 13 MONARCH COUNTY (J421) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Near the 500 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from COLOURFUL GAN and as a consequence was then steadied to avoid THE RED HARE.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when racing tight to the inside of THE RED HARE.

The Red Hare was wide and without cover in midfield but just got up to blouse California Waves for a first win at his seventh local start. California Waves was just denied late after poking his head in front 100m out after a rails run from midfield. The move to blinkers and the step back to 1,400m nearly worked the oracle. Favourite Do Your Part stayed on for third after getting held up for the early part of the straight following a box-seat run. It was a good effort up in grade carrying a lighter weight. Riding Together found a few too good travelling fifth and one off the fence with cover. It was a good effort. Sky Joy knocking up late after cruising to the lead near the 200m following a pace-stalking run outside Wolf Coming from gate 14. Golden Empire made good ground late without threatening after turning the final bend four from the rear.
