Aeris Nova was trapped wide better than midfield from gate 12 but still got up in the concluding stages for a third win from 18 starts. He deserved that after running well to fill the frame in his first three starts this term. Punted late Drombeg Banner was just touched off late after dictating the run from gate 10. He was able to build on a speedduelling sixth first up this term. Early favourite Public Attention stayed on a close third after chasing the speed from gate eight. He's building towards a win with placings in both local starts. Mid Winter Wind just missed a placing after getting held up for a run until the 250m following a one-off trip from behind midfield. Like the latter, there's a win coming for him shortly. Dancing Code just lost fourth prize money after getting all favours in the box seat. It was another honest effort. Healthy Happy was making good ground late from the rear after a slow start. It was a pleasing effort.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten : (263) - HIGHLAND REEL HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 BEAUTY ETERNAL (H008) R Moore Shortly after the start became unbalanced when it made contact with PUBLIC ATTENTION.

Checked near the 1200 Metres.

Near the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from BEAUTY CRESCENT.

Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid BEAUTY CRESCENT (Y L Chung) which shifted out and away from YOUNG CHAMPION when that runner shifted out.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Chung had made some effort to prevent his mount from shifting out, he was reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he should make a greater effort to avoid causing interference.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 VICTOR THE WINNER (G404) L Hewitson Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 3 HEALTHY HAPPY (D435) L Ferraris Lay in in the Home Straight, resulting in its rider L Ferraris changing his whip through to his right hand passing the 150 Metres.

Trainer F C Lor confirmed that the intention was for the horse to hold a more forward position, but it settled further back in the field after jumping awkwardly and losing ground.

Horse No 5 DROMBEG BANNER (H117) H Doyle Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 MARKWIN (J420) H Bentley Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with MID WINTER WIND.

Horse No 7 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) K Teetan In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1200 Metres was steadied to avoid VICTOR THE WINNER.

Horse No 8 AERIS NOVA (J534) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

K C Leung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1200 Metres (see BEAUTY CRESCENT).

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 GUSTOSISIMO (J303) A Badel Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing in restricted room between PUBLIC ATTENTION which shifted out slightly and AERIS NOVA which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 11 KARMA (G392) M L Yeung Near the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from BEAUTY ETERNAL.

Horse No 12 PUBLIC ATTENTION (L035) C Williams Bumped shortly after the start.

After being crossed by DROMBEG BANNER near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied to avoid DROMBEG BANNER (H Doyle).

H Doyle was advised to ensure that she is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Horse No 13 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) Y L Chung K C Leung (AERIS NOVA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BEAUTY CRESCENT, resulting in BEAUTY CRESCENT being checked to avoid AERIS NOVA, shifting in and crowding the running of BEAUTY ETERNAL which was also checked.

K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 at Happy Valley.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.

Approaching the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, blundered when being steadied away from AERIS NOVA.

Y L Chung stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after commencing only fairly his mount settled further back in the field than intended and raced keenly throughout the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 MID WINTER WIND (K208) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.

Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.

14 December 2025 Sha Tin Racemeeting Race 8 (261) Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards viewed the patrol films of the Home Straight to ascertain if any runner was disadvantaged following a person entering the race track near the 100 Metres whilst this race was being run.

As the Stewards were satisfied that no horses had been disadvantaged due to the person being securely held on the track and with no rider reporting to the Stewards that their mounts had been disadvantaged, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

Race 9 (253) U Rispoli (SKY HEART) was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on three occasions from the 200 Metres to the 100 Metres.
