Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (251) - LONGINES INTERNATIONAL JOCKEYS' CHAMPIONSHIP (HANDICAP)- 3RD LEG - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) Z Purton Bumped on jumping.
When questioned regarding his riding over the concluding stages Z Purton stated that in the Home Straight his mount hung in.
He said as he approached the finish of the event he heard a call from a rider to his inside and as a consequence he looked in, stopped riding and straightened his mount as he was concerned FLYING FORTRESS was shifting in, crowding runners to his inside.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SILVERY BREEZE (K057) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 STORMING DRAGON (J237) R Moore Made contact with the left side of its starting gate on jumping and shortly after shifted out and made contact with FLYING FORTRESS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ANOTHER ZONDA (K176) J McDonald Bumped on jumping.
Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running between HIGHLAND RAHY and SAMARKAND.
Horse No 6 MAX QUE (J514) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with ANOTHER ZONDA.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) W Buick Bumped at the start.
Near the 900 Metres got its head up when racing ungenerously and being steadied to obtain cover behind IVY LEAGUE.
W Buick reported that his instructions were to obtain a midfield position.
He said from the 600 Metres VIVA GRACIOUSNESS was under pressure and then gave ground thereafter.
Horse No 8 SAMARKAND (H070) R King In the middle stages raced keenly in the lead and approaching the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied.
Horse No 9 THRIVING BROTHERS (J396) H Doyle At the finish of the race H Doyle was obliged to stop riding and straighten her mount when it shifted in towards HIGHLAND RAHY.
Horse No 10 IVY LEAGUE (H116) M Barzalona Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out when held up between BEAUTY GLORY and ANOTHER ZONDA.
M Barzalona reported that his mount hung in throughout the event and proved difficult to ride out in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 SOLID WIN (J225) C Lemaire Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped VIVA GRACIOUSNESS.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 BEAUTY GLORY (E459) J Moreira A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Silvery Breeze was given a patient ride fourth last and showed a good turn of foot through the centre to mow down Flying Fortress for a second win from 10 local starts. He deserved that after seconds in his opening two starts this term. Flying Fortress found one just too good after leading 100m out following a rails run from midfield. He's building towards a win with seconds in his past two starts following a return to the Valley. Max Que surged late down the outside for third after a patient ride second last from gate eight. This run does give him options going forward after returning with two wins and two thirds at Sha Tin. Thriving Brothers found a few too good after briefly drawing level for the lead 130m following a one-out, one-back run. It was a good first effort over the Valley 1,650m following a 1,400m win. Highland Rahy gradually faded after improving following a wide trip travelling midfield from gate 12 to sit second 1,000m out. It was a better effort after two ordinary runs. Another Zonda plodded after coming off heels for a clear run 200m. He's just not good enough off his current mark of 69.
