Free Pony was given a patient ride third last from gate five and zipped home late with two wider out to just get the better of Flying Wrote for a first win at his ninth start. Well-backed Flying Wrote found one just too good after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another fine effort carrying 7lb more following a win and subsequent heart irregularity. Winning Money was touched off late after giving a cheeky sight on the speed from gate six. He's a winner waiting to happen. Prestige Hall ran on well near the inside for fourth without threatening the top three after making his run at the rear following a slow start. It was an eye-catching effort at his first Valley start. Thumped to jump favourite Argento Ocean just plodded after getting all favours in the box seat. He couldn't lift carrying 7lb more following a win but may be looking for a rise in trip now. Savvy Twinkle was next best after a speed tracking run from gate eight. He will be looking forward to a downgrade. Early favourite Sky Cap found nothing after a prominent run. He was having his first run of the campaign.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (250) - SPORTS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 SKY CAP (K125) J Moreira Between the 800 Metres and the 600 Metres SKY CAP, which was racing keenly, was steadied to avoid SAVVY TWINKLE (H Doyle) which shifted in when not quite clear and then steadied the pace for some distance thereafter.

H Doyle was severely reprimanded and advised she must ensure that she is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Bumped near the 250 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 ARGENTO OCEAN (K322) H Bowman Shifted out near the 250 Metres and was bumped.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 MARVEL AND GOLD (K109) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 FLYING WROTE (J290) C L Chau Near the 550 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of SKY CAP.

Approaching the winning post raced tight between WINNING MONEY and FREE PONY which shifted in.

Horse No 5 WAVE GARDEN (K209) L Ferraris Approaching the 250 Metres ARGENTO OCEAN improved to the outside of SAVVY TWINKLE.

A short distance later SAVVY TWINKLE shifted out slightly, resulting in ARGENTO OCEAN shifting out and making contact with SKY CAP, causing SKY CAP to be taken out and WATCH THIS ONE and FLYING WROTE to be taken wider.

At the same point FREE PONY was being shifted to the outside of FLYING WROTE and as a consequence was taken wider, resulting in WAVE GARDEN having to be steadied when crowded between WIN METHOD and FREE PONY.

Horse No 6 WATCH THIS ONE (K268) M F Poon Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by WINNING MONEY which shifted out slightly.

Bumped approaching the 250 Metres.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 7 FREE PONY (K229) M L Yeung Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 250 Metres.

Horse No 8 PRESTIGE HALL (K040) J McDonald Jumped awkwardly.

Trainer D J Hall confirmed that from the outside barrier he had instructed J McDonald to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

After being shifted to the inside of ARGENTO OCEAN near the 150 Metres then was held up over the final 100 Metres when racing tight to the inside of ARGENTO OCEAN which shifted in and when positioned close to the heels of WINNING MONEY.

Horse No 11 POWER SUMMIT (K044) D Probert Near the 550 Metres made contact with the running rail when racing tight to the inside of FLYING WROTE.

Horse No 12 SAVVY TWINKLE (K067) H Doyle Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Doyle, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, she was nonetheless reminded of her obligation to ensure that she fully rides her mounts out to the finish of the race.
