Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (249) - LONGINES INTERNATIONAL JOCKEYS' CHAMPIONSHIP (HANDICAP)- 2ND LEG - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 STAR MAC (J053) J McDonald From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, STAR MAC will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 3 CORLEONE (J426) R Moore Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 QUANTUM PATCH (H166) J Moreira Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start made contact with YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which shifted in.
Horse No 5 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) W Buick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 8 TAKE ACTION (J098) C Lemaire Shifted in on jumping and made contact with YIU CHEUNG VICTORY.
As a result TAKE ACTION then raced tight to the outside of YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which shifted out slightly.
C Lemaire reported that the intention was to hold a forward position but after being hampered at the start his mount settled further back in the field than intended.
Horse No 9 FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 YOUTH POWER (H358) Z Purton In the middle stages raced keenly when being steadied to obtain a position to the outside of CORLEONE.
Horse No 11 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) H Doyle Bumped at the start, shifted in and made contact with QUANTUM PATCH.
Horse No 12 ACE WAR (J509) R King Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Corleone led from gate two and just held off the late surge of Ace War for back-to-back wins this term from seven career starts. It was a solid effort carrying 4lb more and he should remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. Punted late Ace War made it close on the wire after a box-seat run. He's run well to place in three of his past four starts over the Valley 1,650m. Specked late Fortunate Son stayed on a close third after a oneout, one-back run. It was an improved effort at his second run carrying 135lb following a win. Amazing Gaze ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He was able to brush off a flat eighth as the favourite last start. Quantum Patch ran on steadily for fifth after a rails run from midfield. He's honest as the day is long. Youth Power just plodded when asked for more after a speed-tracking run from gate eight. Yiu Cheong Victory ran on without menacing after settling fifth last and one off the fence from gate eight. It was an okay effort up in grade following a win. Can't Go Wong made inroads late after settling second last from gate 11. He wasn't suited by the pace of the race.
