Recap by phillip woo

Fivefortwo was on the rails in midfield and quickened nicely to get up 60m out for a first win at his fourth local start. It was clearly his best run to date following a gear change. Sunday's Serenade finished nicely for second after biding his time fourth last from gate six. It was another honest performance. Incanto Star got up late along the inside for third after coming up short of room between the 300m and 200m following a five back run on the fence. He appreciated the step up in distance. Savvy Warrior ran on well for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He was able to build on a closing fifth when trying the Valley 1,650m for the first time last month. Prestige Ricky was doing his best work late for fifth after making his run two from the rear. It was another positive run. Aeroinvincible was on his tippy toes 100m out after clearing to lead from gate five. Post time favourite Stormi didn't find much when things got serious after sitting near the front along the inside. Bull Attitude ran out of gas 100m out after moving to the lead 250m out following a speed-tracking run from gate 10.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (247) - CANAL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 FIVEFORTWO (K381) L Ferraris Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of KOLACHI to obtain clear running and made contact with YOUNG BRILLIANT.

When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer K W Lui stated that the horse was advantaged by being dropped back in grade and also the addition of a tongue tie.

He said whilst the horse's track work had not been impressive he was satisfied with its most recent barrier trial on 13 November 2025.

He added that, in his opinion, the most significant reason for the improved performance was the horse racing at Happy Valley for the first time tonight.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 THE AZURE (J227) J McDonald Jumped only fairly.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 3 SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231) M Barzalona Bumped at the start.

Leaving the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of KOLACHI to continue into clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) B Avdulla Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres.

Horse No 5 AEROINVINCIBLE (J180) C Y Ho Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Leaving the 100 Metres shifted in and away from BULL ATTITUDE and became unbalanced when it made contact with INCANTO STAR.

Horse No 6 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) C Lemaire Bumped near the 300 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

As this was the second occasion that YOUNG BRILLIANT had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.

Horse No 7 BULL ATTITUDE (K305) Z Purton Z Purton stated that his mount was able to obtain a position outside the lead as instructed.

He added that in the Home Straight BULL ATTITUDE failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing.

Trainer M Newnham stated that whilst he had requested the horse to be ridden in a forward position, in hindsight it may not have been suited by being ridden in this manner, particularly as it had disappointed previously on 21 September 2025 when ridden in a similar position.

He added that at its next race start he would endeavour to instruct the jockey to ride the horse with cover.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 KOLACHI (J395) D Probert When commencing to give ground near the 150 Metres was eased when racing tight between SUNDAY'S SERENADE and STORMI.

Horse No 10 INCANTO STAR (K343) J Orman Approaching the 100 Metres improved into a narrow run to the inside of AEROINVINCIBLE.

A short distance later AEROINVINCIBLE then shifted in and away from BULL ATTITUDE, resulting in INCANTO STAR making contact with AEROINVINCIBLE and being crowded for some distance after the 100 Metres.

Horse No 11 DR GOLDEN GENERAL (K412) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 12 STORMI (K084) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
