Horse No 1 FALLON (H219) M L Yeung Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 2 JOY OF SPRING (H383) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 MONDIAL (K206) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.
M Chadwick reported that his mount lay in, particularly when under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 WROTE A NEW PAGE (K226) J McDonald Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LIVEANDLETLIVE (K156) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 STAR CONTACT (E472) H Bowman Bumped approaching the finish.
H Bowman reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race.
Before being allowed to race again, STAR CONTACT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 CHARITY GAIN (H431) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the finish shifted out slightly and made contact with STAR CONTACT.
Horse No 8 STURDY RUBY (H207) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when it improved behind STAR CONTACT.
C Y Ho reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but despite being ridden along in the early stages his mount did not show sufficient pace to do so.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 AESTHETICISM (H289) H Doyle Near the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded between S J TOURBILLON which was racing tight to the inside of FALLON and TALENTS TRUMP which shifted out before being corrected by its rider D Probert.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 TALENTS TRUMP (K535) D Probert Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 450 Metres was steadied when awkwardly placed close to MONDIAL when that runner lost ground.
When giving ground near the 150 Metres shifted out and made contact with AESTHETICISM when being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 11 S J TOURBILLON (G138) R Kingscote Near the 150 Metres was crowded.
Horse No 12 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged by settling back in the field with the early stages of the race being run outside of standard time.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Joy Of Spring capitalised on a box-seat run to take control 50m out for a fifth win from 21 starts. He took full advantage of gate one to improve his record over the Valley 1,800m for three wins from five attempts. Punted late Liveandletlive kept on solidly for second after dictating the pace as expected from gate four. He's a winner waiting to happen. Favourite Wrote A New Page just failed to get up for second after making his run fifth on the fence. It was another honest effort. Veteran Star Contact plugged on well for fourth after a speed-tracking run from gate two. He's given a decent sight for fourths in two of three tries over the Valley 1,800m. Charity Gain was doing his best work late for fifth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was another honest effort over the valley 1,800m. Mondial came up one paced after a prominent run. It wasn't a bad effort resuming first up off a 245-day break for his new trainer. Fallon was getting going late down the outside to finish next best ridden third last from gate 12. Sturdy Ruby made some ground without threatening after biding his time three from the rear.
