Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (231) - TAI TAM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 VICTOR THE RAPID (J393) M Guyon When being shifted behind GENIUS BABY approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid GENIUS BABY when SWAGGER BRO shifted out to avoid LEGENDARY IMPACT.
Near the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of SWAGGER BRO and LEGENDARY IMPACT to obtain clear running.
Horse No 2 SILVER SPURS (J043) E C W Wong Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance.
Trainer C Fownes could offer no excuse for the performance and advised that he will now spell the horse as he was of the view that it had reached the end of its preparation.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SWAGGER BRO (K089) B Avdulla Shortly after the start shifted out, made contact with GENIUS BABY and became unbalanced.
Near the 1000 Metres blundered after making contact with GENIUS BABY.
Near the 150 Metres blundered.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 GIANT BALLON (K451) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 BRAVE WIN (K421) C Y Ho On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Horse No 6 IMPENDING LEGACY (K486) L Ferraris On jumping made contact with the hindquarters of BRAVE WIN.
Near the 300 Metres was bumped by REWARDING BUDDY (K C Leung) when that runner was shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to obtain clear running.
K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 7 MASTER RESOLUTE (K403) R Kingscote Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between CALL TO COMMAND (M L Yeung) which shifted in slightly and SILVER SPURS (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out.
Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.
M L Yeung was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 8 GENIUS BABY (K132) K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
Near the 1000 Metres was bumped by SWAGGER BRO and taken wider.
Near the 250 Metres was shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to obtain clear running.
Between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres then raced tight between REWARDING BUDDY and CALL TO COMMAND which shifted out.

Horse No 9 REWARDING BUDDY (J373) K C Leung Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of CALL TO COMMAND to obtain clear running and made contact with IMPENDING LEGACY.

Horse No 10 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
M L Yeung advised that from the outside barrier his instructions were to go forward.
Trainer C W Chang confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 12 BASIC INSTINCT (K289) H T Mo Shortly after the start bumped with GENIUS BABY and became unbalanced.
A short distance later BASIC INSTINCT was then steadied when crowded between GENIUS BABY and MASTER RESOLUTE which shifted in slightly.

Genius Baby ran on from behind midfield through the centre to take control 50m out for a first win at his 10th local start. He was able to improve on an improved fifth last start as the favourite for his new trainer. Rewarding Buddy found one too good after hitting the lead 100m out following a prominent run one off the fence. He can break through at any moment with seconds in two of his past three starts. Victor The Rapid surged late along the inside for third after a patient ride third last from gate eight. It was a return to form following a downgrade. Swagger Bro just won a battle for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was a good run first up for his new trainer. Call To Command wasn't beaten far in the end after prompting the pace three wide without cover in third from gate 12. Legend Impact kept on one paced after a rails run from better than midfield. Brave Win made ground late to just miss sixth prize money after making his run at the rear from gate 11. It was a better effort. Favourite Silver Spurs didn't have much left in the tank after getting pressured at times for the lead.
