Recap by phillip woo

The well-backed Hong Lok Golf prevailed in the concluding stages after getting held up for a run until barging his way out at the 100m. He has the tools to head higher. Specked late, Soleil Fighter produced a cheeky sight to just miss after poking his head in front 100m out following a well-executed ride sitting third on the fence from gate 13. It was his best effort from five starts. Steps Ahead found a couple just too good after rushing to the lead 200m out following a prominent run one off the fence. It was another honest performance. Sky Heart stayed on for fourth without threatening the top three after getting held up early straight following a rails run from better than midfield. Pray For Mir was next best after prompting the pace outside Voyage Samurai from gate 14. It was a better effort. Sagacious Life ran on without threatening after a one-off trip from midfield. He couldn't repeat a win on Hong Kong debut carrying 15lb more.
