Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (222) - CLASS 3 1200M AWT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MR ENERGIA (J239) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
M F Poon stated that after settling back in the field the horse found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight under its 134 lbs.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 MUST GO (J133) B Avdulla Shortly after the start was eased to avoid FUN N FUN TOGETHER which shifted out.
Horse No 3 METRO POWER (K408) L Hewitson L Hewitson reported that his mount, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface, did not appreciate the tighter turns before giving ground in the Home Straight and not running out a strong 1200 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) A Badel From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 QUARTZ LEGEND (K548) D Probert D Probert reported that he was asked to ride the horse where comfortable.
He said when his mount jumped well he was obliged to make use of it in the early stages to cross runners to his inside to avoid racing wide.
He said as a consequence QUARTZ LEGEND did not finish the race off when under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232) E C W Wong Apprentice E C W Wong reported that his mount was pressured in the lead by METRO POWER and AURORA PATCH and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
Trainer F C Lor stated that he was pleased with the horse leading into the race and concurred with the views of Apprentice Wong that FUN N FUN TOGETHER was unsuited by being pressured in the lead.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 HERBAL STAR (L053) K Teetan K Teetan reported that his mount hung out making the turns in the middle stages of the event.
Horse No 9 SPORTS LEGEND (H456) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly.
After being crossed by VICTORY SKY near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied for some distance thereafter.
Horse No 10 AURORA PATCH (K097) M Chadwick Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 OTOKOMAE (K495) R Kingscote Shortly after the start was bumped by MUST GO which shifted out when being eased.
Near the 700 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of VICTORY SKY which shifted in.
Horse No 12 VICTORY SKY (J540) H Doyle Sent for sampling post-race.

After a wide trip with cover from midfield, Victory Sky quickened nicely to overhaul Aurora Patch 50m out for a maiden win at his 16th local start and first on dirt. He deserved that after seven earlier placings. Punted late, Aurora Patch found one too good on the day after shooting to the front 200m out following a wide trip chasing the speed from gate 11. It was another good effort. Super Joy N Fun ran on nicely for third after making his run one from the rear. It was another solid effort carrying 12lb more following a win. Early favourite Blazing Wind just got the head down for fourth without threatening the top three after a prominent run on the fence. He was given every chance. Must Go made ground late to just miss fourth after biding his time two from the rear. He appears from his past two runs to be getting on track. Otokomae made inroads late for sixth after travelling four from the rear. It was a better effort.
