Recap by phillip woo

Allcash travelled prominently one off the fence from gate seven, surged to the front 150m out and kept finding for a first local win at his 15th start. Well-backed Fortune Star ran on nicely though the centre to finish a close second after making his run near the back from gate nine. He continues to race very well without winning. Take Action had to settle for a share of third after going for home on top 200m out following a speed-tracking run from gate 10. Prestige Ricky finishing nicely to dead-heat for third travelling behind midfield on the fence from gate 11. It was a return to form. Amazing Award ran on well to just miss the frame after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another honest run over the Valley 1,650m. Ace War motored late with two wider out to finish a head bob away in sixth after biding his time second last following a slow start as usual. Fortunate Son wasn't too far off the mark with his bid late down the outside after making his run two from the rear. Amazing Gaze never landed a blow after one off trip from behind midfield. It was an out-of-character run after a second and unlucky fourth in two other starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (214) - KYLESKU BRIDGE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 FORTUNATE SON (J446) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 1200 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from AMAZING GAZE.

Over the final 50 Metres made contact with AMAZING GAZE on a number of occasions when AMAZING GAZE was taken out slightly.

Horse No 2 ALLCASH (K190) H Bowman H Bowman stated that with an expected lack of early pace he was given the option of holding a more forward position.

He said when his mount commenced well he was able to follow BOWSER across in the early stages and with blinkers being applied for the first time raced in a more forward position than it had at its previous race starts.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 AMAZING AWARD (J236) K Teetan Shortly after the start was bumped by CELTIC TIMES which shifted out.

Horse No 4 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Horse No 5 AMAZING GAZE (K444) Z Purton When questioned Z Purton stated that his mount settled slightly further back in the field than expected when AMAZING AWARD, which he was following, did not continue forward in the early stages.

He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight AMAZING GAZE finished the race off only fairly although it bumped with FORTUNATE SON on a number of occasions when ACE WAR shifted out after the 100 Metres.

Trainer D A Hayes advised the horse had pleased him leading into the race and, in his opinion, as AMAZING GAZE is still relatively inexperienced it may not have appreciated racing tight between ACE WAR and FORTUNATE SON in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.
