Recap by phillip woo

Ocean Impact travelled one off in midfield from gate 10 and quickened nicely to get up 50m out for a first win at his 10th start. He put the writing on the wall with a good third last start. Well-fancied Kasa Papa finished nicely down the outside to finish a neck second after a patient ride fifth last from gate seven. He's improved his record to a win, second and third from three runs over the Valley 1,800m. Our Lucky Glory got the head down late for third without threatening the top two after a rails run from behind midfield. It was another honest effort despite a rise in trip. Can't Go Wong just failed to get up for third after making his run two from the rear. It was a good run on the back of a muddling pace. Firming favourite Hakka Radiance lost a placing late after clearing to lead 1,450m out from gate 11. He wasn't good enough to offset a nine-point penalty after three consecutive wins. China Win ran on well to finish next best after making his run at the rear from gate 12. It was an OK effort at his initial run over the Valley 1,800m. Nearly Fine made a mild bid after travelling fourth last on the fence.
