Racing Incident Report
Race One : (208) - FORTH ROAD BRIDGE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ALWAYS MY FOLKS (J345) K Teetan Lay in passing the 1100 Metres and made contact with JOYFUL TREASURE.
Approaching the 1000 Metres briefly raced tight to the inside of SONIC BOOM before SONIC BOOM was corrected by its rider.
Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SONIC BOOM (H Bentley) which shifted in.
H Bentley was reprimanded.
K Teetan stated that after his mount was crowded in the early stages it did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS MY FOLKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 INNO CENTURY (K113) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 3 JOYFUL TREASURE (J496) K De Melo Passing the 1100 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight between BEAUTY FORMULA which shifted out slightly and ALWAYS MY FOLKS which lay in and made contact with JOYFUL TREASURE despite the efforts of its rider.
Near the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied when racing tight to the inside of ALWAYS MY FOLKS when that runner was crowded by SONIC BOOM (H Bentley) which shifted in.
H Bentley was reprimanded.
Shifted out passing the 500 Metres and was bumped.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg.
Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 GLORY CLOUD (H320) A Badel A Badel pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference leaving the 800 Metres (see LEGEND STAR).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LEGEND STAR (K271) J McDonald A Badel (GLORY CLOUD) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that leaving the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of LEGEND STAR, resulting in LEGEND STAR having to be checked.
A Badel was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 17 December 2025 and to expire on Sunday, 21 December 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record.

Horse No 6 BEAUTY FORMULA (K066) Y L Chung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 BRILLIANT FIRE (J441) D Probert Jumped only fairly.
Briefly held up making the Home Turn.
Near the 50 Metres made contact with EVER SMART due to both runners shifting ground.

Horse No 8 SUPER CHARIZZARD (J184) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 DOUBLE BINGO (J309) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 SONIC BOOM (H144) H Bentley H Bentley reported that when his mount commenced well from the outside barrier he elected to ride it forward to lead and as a consequence SONIC BOOM settled more forward than intended.
Horse No 11 GLORIOUS EXPERT (J028) R Kingscote Bumped on the hindquarters at the start.
Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid ALWAYS MY FOLKS.
Passing the 500 Metres was bumped and taken wider by JOYFUL TREASURE which shifted out.

Horse No 12 EVER SMART (J179) H Doyle On jumping shifted out, made contact with GLORIOUS EXPERT and as a consequence lost ground.
Making the first turn got its head up and became unbalanced.
Near the 500 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from BRILLIANT FIRE.
Near the 50 Metres made contact with BRILLIANT FIRE due to both runners shifting ground.

Legend Star quickened nicely to just mug Glory Cloud in the final few strides after making his run four from the rear for a first win at his 12th start. It was clearly his best run to date after a badly impeded performance last Wednesday. Glory Cloud did everything but get the win after hitting the lead 100m out following a one-off trip from behind midfield. He can break through at any moment off his current mark. Hammered late in betting, Sonic Boom kept on gamely for third after having to work to eventually lead from gate 12. He's racing well without winning. Late-fancied favourite Glorious Expert ran on through the centre for fourth after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He was able to go one better after a fifth last start over the minimum Valley trip. Double Bingo was making good ground late for fifth after a wide trip travelling third last from a wide draw. He went all right carrying 7lb more following a win. Inno Century ran on late without threatening after making his run one from the rear. Early favourite Always My Folks was disappointing after a one-out, one-back run.
