Super Unicorn came with a withering run through the centre to just deny Flying Fortress after a patient ride second last for a third win from 22 starts. Flying Fortress did everything but get the win after leading 50m out following a one-off trip from midfield. It was an improved effort third up on his return to his preferred Valley 1,650m. Another Zonda stayed on well for third after leading 250m out following a one-out, one-back run. He's not an easy one to get right on his day. I Can produced a late bid down the outside for fourth after making his run third last from a tricky gate. It was another good run. Fantastic Fun came from last for fifth. It was a positive showing up in class following back-to-back wins. Solid Win ran on without threatening after making his run four from the rear. It wasn't a bad effort at his first outing over the Valley 1,650m. Favourite South Star peaked on his run 100m out after a wide trip with cover from midfield. Highland Rahy didn't find much in the straight after tracking leader Outgate one off from gate two. He's at his best when finding the fence on the lead.

Horse No 2 SOUTH STAR (K153) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) H Bowman Bumped at the start.

H Bowman reported that the intention was to hold a forward position and to increase the tempo from along the Back Straight.

He said with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time HIGHLAND RAHY was disadvantaged by holding its forward position and as a consequence gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 DEFINITIVE (K037) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then bumped with HIGHLAND RAHY.

Horse No 5 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) H Bentley Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from ANOTHER ZONDA.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 STORMING DRAGON (J237) L Hewitson Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 7 STAR CONTACT (E472) E C W Wong Apprentice E C W Wong reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason why it gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have a respiratory condition requiring further assessment.

Horse No 9 OUTGATE (H113) Y L Chung Shifted in at the start and was bumped on the hindquarters.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 SOLID WIN (J225) C L Chau After the 150 Metres was shifted to the inside of ANOTHER ZONDA to continue into clear running.

Horse No 12 SUPER UNICORN (H481) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between FANTASTIC FUN and OUTGATE, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Near the 350 Metres was steadied to avoid SOLID WIN when held up behind that runner.
