Recap by phillip woo

The Auspicious was given a patient ride second last from gate 14 and after rushing down the outside, he just out-duelled Audacious Pursuit for back-to-back wins despite a step up to 1,600m. Audacious Pursuit wouldn't go down without a fight after moving to the lead 250m out following a wide and with cover trip travelling behind midfield from gate 13. Gloriastar ran on nicely for third without menacing the top two after a one-off trip from midfield. He appreciated the step up to 1,600m. China Win was doing some nice work late near the inside for fourth after getting held up for a run between the 150m and 60m following a patient ride third last from gate 12. It was a better effort. Happy Universe came up one paced over the last 100m after a handy run. He ran a bit flat after placing in his first two starts this term. Favourite Inno Super succumbed late after taking off to lead 850m out.
