Race Seven : (147) - THE KWANGTUNG HANDICAP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) H Bowman Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 PARENTS' LOVE (H405) Y L Chung Y L Chung stated that his mount performs best when able to be positioned on the rail and this, in his opinion, was the reason why the horse did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SIX THREE WIN (K513) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 200 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to stop riding and changing his whip through to his right hand.
Horse No 5 QUARTZ LEGEND (K548) D Probert Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 8 LUCKY XANDER (K407) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by ETERNAL FORTUNE which shifted out.
K Teetan reported that his mount raced greenly during the event and proved difficult to ride out in the Home Straight.
Horse No 9 VICTOR THE RAPID (J393) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 LOOKING BRIGHT (K315) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, LOOKING BRIGHT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) H Bentley Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind BLUE ILLUSION.
When being shifted to the inside of BLUE ILLUSION leaving the 100 Metres was then unable to be ridden out to the finish of the race when held up behind PARENTS' LOVE which was giving ground.
Horse No 12 SIR CHARGE (K361) H T Mo Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start was then checked when crowded between PARENTS' LOVE and LUCKY XANDER which was taken out by ETERNAL FORTUNE.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Nine-year-old Harmony N Blessed travelled third and one off the fence before taking the lead 100m out and holding off held off Eternal Fortune for a 10th win from 64 starts. He took full advantage of a drop into Class Three. Eternal Fortune just failed to get up for the win after a prominent run sitting a length behind the winner. It was another honest performance at his first run back following a bone injury in June. Quartz Legend quickened nicely through the centre to grab third without threatening the top two following a patient ride third last. It was an encouraging debut effort. Lucky Xander finished nicely to just miss a placing after making his run five back and one off the fence. It was a much better effort at his second local start. Candlelight Dinner gradually faded after leading as expected from gate one. Blue Illusion ran on all right without menacing after a rails run from behind midfield. It was a positive Hong Kong debut.
