Race Eight : (140) - PYRAMID HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 NOISY BOY (J536) C L Chau Shortly after the start was crowded between TOURBILLON PRINCE and CHILL KAKA which shifted out.
Horse No 3 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) B Avdulla Apprentice P N Wong (PRECISION GOAL) was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in after the winning post, resulting in TOURBILLON PRINCE having to be checked.
Horse No 4 MOJAVE DESERT (J330) A Atzeni Bumped on jumping.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages raced keenly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 MR ENERGIA (J239) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a laceration to the left hind leg.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 YOUNG ACHIEVER (J291) H Bowman Bumped on jumping.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 TURIN MASCOT (H165) J Orman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 ARIEL (G223) E C W Wong Near the 400 Metres the left stirrup used by Apprentice E C W Wong broke, resulting in Apprentice Wong completing the remainder of the race without the use of his left stirrup.
After inspecting his stirrups, in the presence of the Chief Riding Instructor, Mr F Coetzee, he was advised he should ensure that at all times he maintains his gear in good working condition.
Horse No 9 CHILL KAKA (J486) R Kingscote Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 HARMONY GALAXY (J266) M F Poon In the middle stages lay in and away from NEVER PETER OUT and made contact with the running rail near the 800 Metres.
Horse No 12 NEW FOREST (K094) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 TALENTS TRUMP (K535) D Probert Jumped only fairly.
D Probert reported that his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, raced greenly throughout the event and in the early stages was steadied away from HARMONY GALAXY when racing keenly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Following a speed-tracking run from gate 13, the sensationally backed New Forest was much too good after hitting the lead 350m out for a second win over the dirt 1,650m from 11 starts. Mojave Desert dived late through the centre to snatch second after making his run second last from gate 11. He's honest as the day is long. Ariel lost second late after a prominent run on the fence. He was able to back up a placing last start on turf. Turin Mascot just failed to get up for a placing after making his run four from the rear. He should find his mark shortly. Karma made good ground late down the outside to just miss the frame after a wide trip travelling two from the rear. It was an encouraging first run on this surface following a lengthy break following lameness in March. Noisy Boy was doing his best work late to finish a stride away in sixth after a wide trip from behind midfield. He's crying out for a longer trip. Precision Goal was next best after dictating the run from gate 14. He wasn't good enough in a higher grade after back-to-back wins. Favourite Mr Energia failed to fire after a one-off trip from midfield. He didn't get the mile.
