Following a wide trip travelling better than midfield from gate 10, Reliable Profit drew clear after hitting the lead near the 200m for a fourth win and second over 1,800m from 21 starts. Viva Taste ran on strongly for second after making his run one off travelling behind midfield. It was by far his best performance from three starts following a stable change and switch to the all-weather surface. Favourite Supreme Agility ran on well for third after getting held up for a run until the 150m following a rails run from behind midfield. He can bob up at any moment on either surface. The well-backed Special Hedge kept on well for fourth after a handy run one off the fence. It was a good effort on his dirt debut following a last-start win on turf. Mega Force made good ground late for fifth after making his run second last from the widest draw. It was clearly his best run from 11 local starts. Soaring Bronco just held his ground after a rails run from midfield. Punted late, Super Sicario was on his tippy toes 100m out after dictating the pace from gate one. The turf course suits him better. Sight Supreme went amiss.

Horse No 1 RELIABLE PROFIT (G462) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 SUPREME AGILITY (J267) J Orman Near the 700 Metres was steadied when endeavouring to improve between VIVA TASTE which was racing tight to the inside of MEGA FORCE an SOARING BRONCO which shifted out.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 MEGA FORCE (K200) L Ferraris Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

On jumping blundered, became unbalanced and lost ground.

Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 5 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.

Horse No 6 VIVA TASTE (K415) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 DILBAGH (K055) R Kingscote Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 8 DASHING DRAGON (J464) D Probert Jumped awkwardly, resulting in its rider D Probert becoming unbalanced.

A short distance later DASHING DRAGON made contact with GALE SAGA due to both horses shifting ground.

Horse No 9 SIGHT SUPREME (J258) A Atzeni Was retired from the race after the 600 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

As this was the second occasion that SIGHT SUPREME had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.

Horse No 10 SOARING BRONCO (J162) H Bentley Jumped only fairly and then bumped with SPECIAL HEDGE shortly after.

Held up for clear running on the Home Turn and near the 350 Metres was eased when placed in restricted room between SPECIAL HEDGE and KASA PAPA which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

Horse No 11 GALE SAGA (J152) P N Wong Bumped on jumping.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 12 SUPER SICARIO (K306) K Teetan K Teetan reported that his mount hung out throughout the event and in particular when giving ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 13 KASA PAPA (G312) A Badel Approaching the 200 Metres was contacted by SUPREME AGILITY and became unbalanced as SUPREME AGILITY (J Orman) improved into a doubtful run between KASA PAPA and YOUNG BRILLIANT which was giving ground.

J Orman was severely reprimanded and advised he must ensure that there is sufficient racing room when improving into runs.

When questioned A Badel stated that as he entered the Home Straight he was obliged to correct his mount when he received a call from the rider of SOARING BRONCO who was positioned to his outside.

He said a short distance later he endeavoured to secure clear running between GALE SAGA and YOUNG BRILLIANT but when his mount did not respond to his efforts to improve it then was crowded for room when SUPREME AGILITY shifted out approaching the 200 Metres.
