Racing Incident Report
Race One : (66) - TUNG CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 LOADED WITH FLUKE (K069) P N Wong After the event Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to take up a forward position.
Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions issued.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 SPANGLE FORTUNE (G427) Z Purton After the event Z Purton explained that he was required to retire his mount out of the race in the Home Straight when it failed to respond to his riding rounding the Home Turn.
He added that, in his opinion, the horse did not feel comfortable in its action.
Trainer K L Man stated that SPANGLE FORTUNE had worked well leading up to the event and Jockey Purton reported to him that the horse resented the kickback on the All Weather surface.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of SPANGLE FORTUNE was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SPANGLE FORTUNE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
Horse No 3 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) B Avdulla Raced wide and without cover until the 1000 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 TEAM HAPPY (J218) K Teetan Near the 700 Metres got unbalanced after bumping with COOL BLUE.
Approaching the winning post was placed in restricted room between MR ALADDIN and ALL EYES ON ME which shifted out slightly.
After the event K Teetan reported that his instructions were to take up a forward position off the speed and at the same time gain some cover.
He added that for him to carry out those instructions he ended up behind GO GO GO which was unable to continue with a forward position into the race and therefore he was obliged to settle further back in the field than he would have liked.
Horse No 6 VERBIER (J187) E C W Wong After the event Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for his mount's performance other than it was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 VIVA CHALEUR (G368) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 ALL EYES ON ME (J453) M L Yeung Blundered badly on jumping.
Horse No 10 SPORTIC WARRIOR (J385) H T Mo Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
The performance of SPORTIC WARRIOR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SPORTIC WARRIOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 COOL BLUE (H011) M Chadwick Near the 700 Metres COOL BLUE and TEAM HAPPY shifted ground and bumped, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
After the event M Chadwick reported that, in his view, COOL BLUE is better suited on the turf.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Yoda's Choice found the front from gate one and kept up a strong gallop for a second all-weather win from 27 starts. He appreciated a downgrade and return to the dirt surface. Night Purosangue kept on very well to snatch second from firming favourite Viva Chaleur after sitting wide travelling midfield for a majority of the run from gate eight. It was a good effort at his first start on the surface. Viva Chaleur had his chance but had to settle for third after a box-seat run. It was a decent effort following a stable change, but the 31-run maiden was again costly. Euro Rocks ran on steadily from behind midfield for fourth without menacing the top three. He was able to back up a closing fourth last start over 1,200m despite a rise in trip. Go Go Go ran on without threatening after a wide trip travelling two from the rear. Loaded With Fluke kept on next best after rushing forward very wide to track the winner from gate 11 under a 7lb claimer.
