Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (47) - WOODPECKER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 SMART BEAUTY (G477) Y L Chung Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running when improving into a narrow run between SILVER KING and MR GOOD VIBES.
Horse No 3 PERFECT PEACH (E488) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 CERVIN (H253) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
In the early stages raced keenly and approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied away from PERFECT PEACH.
Lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 5 BINGO BABE (K115) D Probert After travelling a short distance was eased to avoid SUPREME WINNER which shifted out slightly.
BINGO BABE was then shifted behind SUPREME WINNER where it raced keenly in the early stages.
The performance of BINGO BABE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, BINGO BABE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 DRACO (J115) L Ferraris Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
After the event L Ferraris stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions and said he issued these instructions as DRACO had finished the race off only fairly at its most recent start when ridden in a forward position and also to offset the wide barrier draw.
Horse No 7 SILVER KING (H420) R Kingscote Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 SMASHING EXPRESS (J252) A Badel H Bowman was replaced by A Badel (see General).
Horse No 10 FAMILY FORTUNE (H447) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from APOLAR FIGHTER.
Horse No 11 NINJA DERBY (H339) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 MR GOOD VIBES (H180) K Teetan Shortly after the start was bumped by SUPREME WINNER which shifted in slightly.
In the early stages of the Home Straight lay in.
Horse No 13 SUPREME WINNER (J255) A Atzeni Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped.
Horse No 14 STRONGEST BOY (H027) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.

Ninja Derby easily found the lead from stall 14 and was too good in a class-record time for a third win from 32 starts. Perfect Peach stayed on for second without threatening the winner after sitting fifth with cover in the run. It was another good showing carrying more weight following a win. Strongest Boy came on late through the middle for third after making his run four from the rear. He appreciated the step up to 1,600m after going OK for his new trainer over 1,400m 14 days ago. Mr Good Vibes ran on steadily to just miss a top-four spot after a wide trip with cover from better than midfield. He's gone all right in both outings this term. Draco ran on nicely for fifth without a clear run until the 100m following a patient ride second last. He's a winner in waiting.
