Favourite Mojave Desert won with something in hand after rushing to the lead 150m out following a rails run from behind midfield for a third win from 19 starts. Endeared ran on strongly for second after making his run two from the rear. He lived up to two pleasing runs over the dirt 1,650m last term. Punted late, New Forest grudgingly gave way after comfortably finding the lead from gate 11. It was another honest performance. Glorious Success came from last to finish fourth without threatening the top three. He continues to perform well across both surfaces without winning. Rising From Ashes picked up late to take fifth after making his run three from the rear. It was another positive effort after returning with a closing third on opening day on turf. Turin Mascot ran on late to finish next best after making his run one from the rear. Dragon Air Force was tight for room and hampered at times following a wide trip from better than midfield. He had an excuse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (44) - PAT SIN LENG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 2 DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279) M Chadwick Approaching the first turn near the 1500 Metres was checked when tightened for room between YOUNG BRILLIANT which was endeavouring to hold its position three horses off the fence and CHILL KAKA which shifted in and away from NEW FOREST (L Hewitson) despite the efforts of its rider Z Purton.

L Hewitson was advised that due to some contributing factors no direct action was taken but he should exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Lay out making the Home Turn.

Horse No 3 ARIEL (G223) P N Wong After the event Apprentice P N Wong stated that her mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a forward position.

She said when caught very wide in the early and middle stages her mount was under pressure as she endeavoured to go forward to cross runners to her inside.

She said when unable to cross, ARIEL was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before failing to run on in the Home Straight.

Horse No 4 MOJAVE DESERT (J330) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.

Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied when racing tight to the inside of NEVER PETER OUT when that runner was momentarily crowded by YOUNG BRILLIANT which shifted in as it was being corrected by its rider K De Melo.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) M L Yeung Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

Tightened for room inside of YOUNG BRILLIANT approaching the first turn near the 1500 Metres.

After the event M L Yeung reported that his mount did not appreciate the "Wet Slow" track conditions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) J Orman Held up for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres.

Horse No 7 CHILL KAKA (J486) Z Purton After the event Z Purton stated that his mount was able to obtain a position outside the lead but travelled a little keenly in the early stages.

He said when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount failed to respond and was disappointing.

He added that, in his opinion, the horse may be better suited when ridden in a more conservative manner in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 ENDEARED (H161) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 KINGDOM OF RICHES (K079) H Bentley The performance of KINGDOM OF RICHES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, KINGDOM OF RICHES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Horse No 11 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) K De Melo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between MOJAVE DESERT and NEVER PETER OUT, both of which shifted ground.

GENERAL:

1.

After the running of Race 5, the track classification for the turf course was officially changed from "Yielding" to "Soft".

This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 5 being run on a track rated "Soft".

21 September 2025 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 6 (42) Jockeys C Y Ho (STANLEY EXPRESS), K Teetan (TIN FOOK), L Hewitson (THOUSAND SPIRIT) and K De Melo (FIVEFORTWO) were all warned for failing to present themselves in the Parade Ring by the required time.

Following the running of Race 7, it was identified that a section of the track near the 600 Metres had raised a safety concern due to THE HEIR and INNO SUPER blundering at that point.

Following an inspection conducted by Club Officials and a delegation of jockeys it was determined that Races 9 and 10 should be abandoned on safety grounds.

Whip Rule Offences - 17 September 2025 Happy Valley Racemeeting The following jockeys were found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:- Race 3 (31) J Orman (SUPREME AGILITY) - 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres - Reprimand M F Poon (CAN'T GO WONG) - 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres - Reprimand Race 7 (35) H Bentley (ROMANTIC SON) - 2 consecutive strides near the 250 Metres - Reprimand

17 September 2025 Happy Valley Racemeeting Race 1 (29) K C Leung (WISDOM STAR) was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 200 Metres.

Race 2 (30) C L Chau (CALIFORNIA BLITZ) was severely reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on a number of occasions in the Home Straight.
