Recap by phillip woo

After claiming the lead from Wonderstar 150m out following a box-seat run, the well-backed Sky Trust bolted in for a fourth win from 23 starts. He did the job in a very good time on a soft track and there's likely another win coming for him in this grade. Wonderstar kept on gamely after leading from gate 11. He was able to back up a game fourth on opening day. Punted late, Tin Fook ran on well for third after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. It was an improved effort at his second local start. Favourite Victory Sky ran on for a non-threatening fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another honest but costly effort. The Red Hare ran on well near the inside for fifth after making his run one from the rear. He's naturally come into his own. Thousand Spirit gradually faded after a prominent run one off the fence. He's still acclimatising. Flying Knight ran on without threatening after a slow start.
