Recap by phillip woo
Hakka Radiance worked forward three wide to track leader Golden Fairy from gate eight before edging clear after assuming the lead 350m out for a first win at his 25th local start. He had always promised do this after five placings in Class Four last season. Yeaboi ran on well for second after coming off the fence following a prominent run. He was able to build on a positive run at the Valley 11 days ago. Smashing Express made good ground late through the centre for third after a wide trip with cover from midfield. He appreciated the step up in distance after a non-threatening ninth over 1,600m on opening day. Storm Runner stayed on fourth best after getting posted three wide chasing the speed without cover from gate 10. He should find his mark shortly in this grade. Chateau Le Peche ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. He should come on for this run.
