Recap by phillip woo

Forever Folks got the race run to suit to come from last and widest out following a slow start to take control in the dying stages for a fourth win at his 38th start. It was a good effort in a rare Valley start following a stable change. Early favourite Supreme Agility ran on nicely for second after making his run two from the rear. He's a winner waiting to happen in this grade. Can't Go Wong rallied well near the inside for third after biding his time fourth last. He has honest 1,800m form. Hit late at long odds, Dilbagh finished nicely through the centre for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was his best effort from eight local starts. Sensationally-backed Romantic Fantasy was doing his best work late for fifth after making his run five back and one off the fence. He rarely produces a bad run over this course. Post-time favourite Firefoot stayed on next best along the inside after getting briefly held up at the top of the straight following a rails run from midfield. Samarkand peaked on his run 150m out after claiming the lead 300m out tracking the hot pace of Kingly Demeanor from gate 11. He had an excuse.
