Recap by phillip woo

Metro Power made the running on the grandstand side from gate nine and never looked back for a first win at his fourth local start. Fast Responder wove a run late to grab second after biding his time fifth last from gate eight. It was another honest performance. Alsonso whacked on one-paced chasing the winner for third. He's close to a win with placings in four of his past five starts over the straight 1,000m. Lucky Eight ran on late for fourth after making his run three from the rear. It was another good first-up run. The All Out just held his ground after a prominent run. He's still only a three-year-old and will need more time to fill out. Lim's Shavano ran on late without threatening on the far side following a patient ride third last. Sugar Sugar made headway late from the rear of the field. He's a Valley horse. Lightness Of Music struggled over the last 200m after sitting third in the run from gate five. He wasn't ready to handle a rise in class.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (25) - MEI TUNG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters

Horse No 1 FAST RESPONDER (J295) P N Wong Near the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when reluctant to shift to the inside of ALSONSO.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 MAJESTIC EXPRESS (J244) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by LUCKY EIGHT which shifted out.

After the event B Avdulla stated that approaching the 400 Metres he was obliged to check to avoid COLOURFUL KNIGHT when that runner did not improve into the race.

He said after this incident MAJESTIC EXPRESS did not fully stretch out and when not in a competitive position he did not continue to ride it out to the finish of the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, MAJESTIC EXPRESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 LIM'S SHAVANO (K424) J Orman On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by LIGHTNESS OF MUSIC which shifted in.

Horse No 4 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) C Y Ho Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.

Horse No 5 LUCKY EIGHT (G204) E C W Wong Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance Z Purton stated that his mount was able to hold the lead in the early stages but came under pressure a long way from the finish before giving ground over the concluding stages.

Trainer W Y So stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race although, in his opinion, its barrier trial on 2 September 2025 was slightly below expectation.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

The performance of LIGHTNESS OF MUSIC, a last start winner, was considered disappointing.

Before being allowed to race again, LIGHTNESS OF MUSIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
