Racing Incident Report
Race One : (19) - HONG TUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) B Avdulla Bumped at the start.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid ISLAND GOLDEN.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running behind EURO ROCKS.
After the 300 Metres NIGHT PUROSANGUE obtained a narrow run between EURO ROCKS and ISLAND GOLDEN, resulting in its rider B Avdulla having to ease his mount near the 250 Metres before securing clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) P N Wong Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres.
Horse No 3 TEAM HAPPY (J218) C L Chau Between the 350 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 4 CIRCUIT FIERY (H475) Z Purton Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 MAGIC COMBO (K213) J Orman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 EURO ROCKS (H153) M F Poon In the middle stages raced keenly.
Near the 300 Metres raced in restricted room for a short distance between MANYTHANKS FOREVER and MY FLYING ANGEL which shifted out to improve.
Horse No 8 ISLAND GOLDEN (H018) C Y Ho Bumped at the start.
After the event C Y Ho stated that his mount did not appreciate racing in amongst horses and making the turn near the 800 Metres became awkward when racing tight to the inside of MANYTHANKS FOREVER.
He added that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 MANYTHANKS FOREVER (J065) D Probert Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid THE WAY WE WIN when being shifted behind that runner for cover.
Horse No 10 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 THE WAY WE WIN (J493) H Bentley In the Home Straight lay in under pressure.
After the event H Bentley confirmed that his instructions were to go forward.
He said when unable to cross runners to his inside his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 12 BRAVE OF FRIENDS (J382) R Kingscote From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 13 FAIRY HORSE (J144) E C W Wong From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Held up between the 500 Metres and the 250 Metres when it was shifted to the outside of BRAVE OF FRIENDS to obtain clear running.

Punted late My Flying Angel flew home from four back on the fence to deny favourite Circuit Fiery for a maiden win at his 20th local start. He was rated five points lower after ending last season with a closing fourth over the same 1,400m trip. Circuit Fiery established a two-length lead 200m out after leading 300m out following a speedtracking run for a third straight placing. He's a winner waiting to happen. Windicator Family ran on well for third after getting held up between the 350m and the 150m following a rails run travelling midfield. He's held his form well after finishing in the first four at his final seven outings last term. Brave Of Friends ran on well down the outside for fourth after making his run at the rear from gate 10. It was clearly his best run to date following a gear change. Team Happy took fifth but had been short of room at one stage following a rails run from better than midfield. He should have finished closer.
