Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (16) - KWUN TONG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 QUANTUM PATCH (H166) H Bowman Approaching the 100 Metres was held up behind YOUTH POWER when that runner commenced to give ground.
After shifting to the outside of YOUTH POWER near the 50 Metres QUANTUM PATCH was unable to be ridden out to the finish when positioned tight to the inside of VIVA GRACIOUSNESS which shifted in slightly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 STURDY RUBY (H207) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between QUANTUM PATCH and SUPER UNICORN which shifted out and away from WISEMAN.
Near the 100 Metres shifted out and away from FIREFOOT and made contact with CHAIN OF GOLD.
Horse No 4 AMAZING RUN (H401) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event K Teetan stated that after settling back in the field his mount failed to respond to his riding and did not run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and also found it to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING RUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 SUPER UNICORN (H481) Z Purton In the middle stages raced ungenerously.
Approaching the 300 Metres endeavoured to obtain a narrow run between NORTHERN BEAST and FIREFOOT, resulting in SUPER UNICORN making contact with FIREFOOT.
When unable to secure this run SUPER UNICORN was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.
Over the final 100 Metres SUPER UNICORN then could not be fully tested when again held up between NORTHERN BEAST and FIREFOOT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) K C Leung Bumped near the 100 Metres.
Horse No 7 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) M Chadwick Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped.
Near the 200 Metres made slight contact with WISEMAN when being shifted to the outside of YOUTH POWER to obtain clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 YOUTH POWER (H358) E C W Wong Approaching the winning post was bumped by QUANTUM PATCH when that runner was racing tight to the inside of VIVA GRACIOUSNESS.
Horse No 9 FIREFOOT (J183) A Badel Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
Horse No 10 WISEMAN (K211) H Bentley On entering the Home Straight changed stride and as a result blundered and became unbalanced.
Horse No 11 SIGHT SUPREME (J258) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 HAILTOTHEVICTORS (J508) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start was bumped by VIVA GRACIOUSNESS which shifted out.

Punted late, Viva Graciousness kept finding after claiming the lead 50m out for a second win at his 23rd start. He appreciated a return to his favourite Valley 1,650m. Quantum Patch got up for second but was held up for a run over the last 100m following a patient ride five back on the fence. It was a solid run down in grade carrying top weight. Youth Power kept on for third after clearing to lead 1,200m out from gate 12. He's tending to mix his form. Sturdy Ruby finished nicely near the outside for fourth after making his run two from the rear. He should come on for the run. Northern Beast kept on one-paced over the last 100m after a prominent run from gate 11. He rarely produces a bad run at the Valley. Chain Of Gold ran on without menacing after making his run fourth last from gate nine. He should find his mark shortly in the grade. Punted late, Firefoot had his chance but wasn't good enough after a one-off trip with cover travelling better than midfield. Favourite Super Unicorn was held up for the majority of the straight after travelling one-off from behind midfield.
