Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (14) - KWUN TONG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping and as a result became unbalanced.
After the event Y L Chung stated that he was instructed to lead on the horse and he was required to make some use of his mount in the early stages to do so, which resulted in the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time.
He added his mount was also disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by SHANGHAI STYLE and as a consequence GOOD LUCK BABE gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 TAKE ACTION (J098) K Teetan On jumping was bumped by THE AUSPICIOUS which shifted out.
For some distance approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind SOARING BRONCO which was commencing to give ground.
Horse No 4 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley When questioned H Bentley stated that he was given no specific instructions where to settle and although his mount commenced well it did not respond to his efforts to hold a more forward position, which resulted in PRINCE ALEX settling at the rear of the field.
When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and if there was an opportunity to improve to the outside of SETANTA, H Bentley stated that although he was aware there was an opportunity to shift to that runner's outside he was reluctant to do so as PRINCE ALEX was not travelling well enough to make a run around the field.
He said as a consequence he elected to improve to the inside of SETANTA with a view to following TO INFINITY.
He said when TAKE ACTION shifted away from the rail he was unable to continue to improve into that run which resulted in PRINCE ALEX having some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the Home Straight.
He added that he was able to shift to the outside of SETANTA near the 200 Metres where his mount finished the race off reasonably well.
Horse No 5 MIGHTY STEED (J384) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SETANTA (G095) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 GLORIOUS RYDER (K290) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 THE AUSPICIOUS (K004) J Orman Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.
Horse No 9 SOARING BRONCO (J162) B Avdulla Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 TO INFINITY (G277) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) M L Yeung After the event M L Yeung stated that his mount was unable to improve making the Home Turn when positioned behind SHANGHAI STYLE.
He said in the Home Straight CELESTIAL HARMONY responded fairly to his riding.
Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Following a one-off trip from midfield, To Infinity just held off odds-on favourite Mighty Steed after surging to the lead 150m out for a seventh win from 44 starts. He is a Valley 1,650m specialist. Mighty Steed couldn't reel in the winner after getting all the favours chasing the leader on the fence. He's a winner waiting to happen. The Auspicious just got the bob down for third after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest effort despite a switch to the Valley. Setanta came from near last and widest out upon straightening to just miss a placing. He's always a chance over the Valley 1,650m. Take Action ran on with two wider out for fifth after making his run three from the rear. It was a positive effort at his first start since February. Prince Alex just got up to win a threehorse battle for sixth after making his run one from the rear. Glorious Ryder made inroads late near the inside after making his run at the back of the field. Good Luck Babe faded after clearing to lead from gate nine. Soaring Bronco had an excuse after a prominent run wide without cover the entire trip from gate seven.
