Recap by phillip woo

After travelling three wide without cover from just better than midfield, Happy Universe kept finding after moving to the lead near the 200m for a first win from 13 local starts. Etalon Or ran on nicely to just miss after third last and three wide from gate seven. He's run well for minor placings in eight of 12 starts this term. California Banner ran on nicely near the inside for third after a rails run from behind midfield. He made a good impression in both starts following an injury-induced absence. Jolly Jumper just held on for fourth after rushing forward three wide to track the speed from gate 14. It was one of his better runs in Class Four. Super Unicorn just failed to get up for fourth after getting held up early in the straight following a one-off trip from behind midfield. Star Brose was doing some fine work late down the outside after making his run at the rear following a slow start. He has ability but needs to get his antics at the gate right.
