Race Eight : (815) - THE IP JUG (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 WUKONG JEWELLERY (K314) B Avdulla Near the 1200 Metres was steadied to avoid VIVA TASTE (M F Poon) which shifted in as the pace was steadying.
M F Poon was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.
Horse No 2 BEAUTY VIVA (K155) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.
Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of SMILING EMPEROR to continue into clear running.
Horse No 3 FORTUNE BOY (K098) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 TIMES TABLE (J230) J Orman Shifted out at the start and made contact with WUKONG JEWELLERY.
Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of YOUTH POWER to continue into clear running.
Horse No 5 VIVA TASTE (K415) M F Poon Bumped heavily at the start and became unbalanced.
Horse No 6 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) H Bowman Slow to begin and then was crowded between WUKONG JEWELLERY and TIMES TABLE.
After the event H Bowman stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight but could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 YOUTH POWER (H358) H Bentley After the event H Bentley reported that his mount did not appreciate having KASA PAPA positioned to its outside and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 RADIANT SWIFT (J425) M Chadwick Bumped heavily at the start.
Horse No 11 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 SMILING EMPEROR (J371) A Atzeni After the event A Atzeni stated that his mount failed to run out a strong 1800 Metres, particularly stepping up in class for this race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Fortune Boy just scrambled in after surging to the lead 100m out following a perfect trip three back on the fence for a second win at his eighth start. He didn't mind the step up to 1,800m after a very unlucky second over 1,600m last start. Specked late, Forever Folks finished strongly near the outside to make it close on the wire after making his run three from the rear. He has honest turf form over the Sha Tin 1,800m. Kasa Papa succumbed late after moving to the lead 400m out following a speed-tracking run from the widest draw. He has run well to place in four of seven runs in this grade following a Class Five success in January. Times Table ran on nicely near the inside for fourth after making his run two from the rear. It was his best effort from 10 local starts with a step up to 1,800m. Wukong Jewellery made inroads for fifth after a rails run from behind midfield. He was able to back up an improved fourth last Saturday over the dirt 1,650m.
