Recap by phillip woo

Celtic Times edged clear after moving to the lead 250m out following a prominent run one off the fence for a second win from 34 starts. Smashing Express ran on nicely to grab second in the dying stages after a patient trip fourth last. He keeps promising without delivering on a win line. Apolar Fighter just lost a battle for second after straightening near the outside following a one-off trip from behind midfield. He was able to back up a third when trying the 1,600m last start and does look a winner waiting to happen early next season. Smart Beauty ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was a nice effort carrying more weight following a win. The Way We Win gradually faded after dictating the pace from gate eight. It was his best effort from 12 local starts.
