Firming favourite Pearl Of Pang's was handily placed on the fence, led 80m out and edged clear for a first win at his 13th start. He deserved that after third in his last two starts. Mr Cool found one too good on the day after briefly hitting the front down the outside 150m out following a one-off trip from behind midfield. The huge weight swing was the difference in the end. Star Brose ran on nicely to snatch third after recovering from a slow start to travel behind midfield on the fence. It was his best effort from four starts with a step up to 1,600m. Happy Universe found a few too good after poking his head in front 250m out following a speed chasing run outside Winning Data. He had run well to fill the frame in three of his last four starts. Special Hedge stayed on for fifth after a wide with cover trip travelling midfield from gate 14. He has honest 1,600m form. Quick Contribution kept on evenly after a rails run from midfield to finish next best without threatening the top five finishers. He might be better suited over 1,400m.

Horse No 1 MR COOL (K184) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) M Chadwick On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters.

Horse No 4 WITHOUT DELAY (K262) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SOARING BRONCO which shifted out.

Leaving the 150 Metres made contact with CALIFORNIA SUN due to both runners shifting ground, resulting in WITHOUT DELAY becoming unbalanced.

Horse No 5 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) K De Melo Near the 400 Metres was bumped by PEARL OF PANG'S which shifted out to improve, resulting in GALLANT EPOCH becoming slightly unbalanced.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 CALIFORNIA SUN (J129) Y L Chung Leaving the 150 Metres made contact with WITHOUT DELAY due to both runners shifting ground.

Horse No 7 QUICK CONTRIBUTION (K112) M F Poon Bumped at the start.

Near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between WINNING DATA and STAR BROSE.

Horse No 8 SOARING BRONCO (J162) B Avdulla Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Near the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid MR COOL.

Trainer P C Ng confirmed that the instructions from a wide barrier were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Horse No 9 STAR BROSE (J463) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 10 SIGHT SUPREME (J258) A Hamelin Held up for some distance near the 400 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 MR JUSTICE (K072) H T Mo Bumped on jumping by QUICK CONTRIBUTION and became unbalanced.

The performance of MR JUSTICE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

As this was the second consecutive occasion that the horse had finished tailed out, MR JUSTICE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise.

Horse No 14 PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) K C Leung Shifted out near the 400 Metres and made contact with GALLANT EPOCH.

Sent for sampling post-race.
