Recap by phillip woo

Travelling three wide with cover from behind midfield, Favourite My Day My Way showed a sterling turn of foot from two wider out to just pip New Power for a first win on his seventh start. He deserved that after close seconds in back-to-back runs. New Power did everything right but get the win after moving to the lead 200m out following a speed-tracking run between runners. He continues to hold his form well. Charming Babe stayed on for third after tracking the leader along the inside from gate one. It was an improved effort on his return to the level of a February win. Flying Wrote kept on well for fourth despite chasing the speed three wide without cover from gate seven. He rarely produces a bad run but has yet to win in 10 outings this term. Monarch County was fifth without a clear run near the inside over the last 100m after making his run at the rear from gate 12. It was an eye-catching run in defeat on course debut. Telecom Power plugged on one paced after a one-off trip from better than midfield. Bling Bling Genuis copped a check at the start and again so 550m out when positioned midfield.
