Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (754) - SHEUNG SHUI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
Horse No 2 EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093) H Bentley Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Near the 1500 Metres was briefly tightened by WUKONG JEWELLERY which was taken in by DEFINITIVE.
After the event H Bentley stated that when the pace steadied in the middle stages his mount commenced to race keenly and as a result he elected to make a forward move from the 800 Metres.
He said EXCELLENCE VALUE was unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result raced wide and without cover thereafter before its run ended near the 200 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 DEFINITIVE (K037) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 KING OF FIGHTERS (K174) Z Purton After the event Z Purton stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position.
He said his mount travelled satisfactorily during the race but came under pressure when EXCELLENCE VALUE improved to his outside near the 600 Metres after which KING OF FIGHTERS did not finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of KING OF FIGHTERS was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, KING OF FIGHTERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 6 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Leaving the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of KING OF FIGHTERS to continue into clear running.
Horse No 8 LUCKY TOUCH (J203) A Badel Slow to begin.
Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between FAST SPEED and A AMERIC TE SPECSO which shifted out.
After the event A Badel stated that his mount settled back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight which he attributed to the middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 SAMARKAND (H070) L Hewitson Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 12 FAST SPEED (K351) H T Mo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Prominent one of with cover from gate 12, Definitive got up in the dying stages though the centre to just defeat Prestige Always for a second Valley 1,650m win from 10 starts this term. Prestige Always led from gate 10 and fought on gamely to just get the head down for second after getting pressured for the lead from the 500m. He's a winner in waiting. Samarkand stayed on a close third after a box-seat run. He rarely produces a bad run over this course. Sure Joyful just scrambled in for fourth after settling midfield on the fence from gate five. It was another positive showing following a last start win in Class Four. Punted late Stellar Swift ran on late to just miss a Quartet spot after making his run third last from gate 11. It wasn't a bad effort at his first start over the Valley 1,650m. A Americ Te Specso was getting going late to finish on the bottom of a three-horse battle for fourth after biding his time three from the rear. Favourite Lucky Touch was a non-factor after a slow start. Excellence Value was on his tippy toes 150m out after circling the field 700m out to vie for the lead three deep 500m out.
