Recap by phillip woo

Punted late, Perfectday kept coming with every stride after a rails run from midfield to just pip long-time leader Wonderstar on the wire for a maiden win at his second start. He took advantage of gate one after running on well for seventh on debut last month. Wonderstar was only touched off late after repeatedly repelling a challenge by favourite Lunar Dash after leading from gate eight. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs. Lunar Dash stayed on well to finish a close third after sitting on the leader's back. He acquitted himself well on debut. Miracle Fighter ran on nicely through the centre for fourth after making his run three from the rear. It was an encouraging debut performance. Pejibaye was doing his best work late down the outside for fifth without threatening the top four after biding his time second last from gate 10. He's still a work in progress but has shown flashes of ability in his three starts. Bright Day made some ground late towards the outside after a wide trip travelling behind midfield.
