Money was spot on for Wrote A New Page who following a one-off trip from midfield just denied Capital Legend with a bid through the centre to lead 50m out. The move to the Valley worked the oracle after putting the writing on the wall in two prior starts over 1,600m. Capital Legend came from near last and two off the fence to make it close on the wire. It was a return to form on his return to the course and distance of a win in October. To Infinity found a couple too good in the end after briefly hitting the lead near the 100m following a quiet ride five back on the fence. He was able to back up well on a win last start. Favourite Midori Fuji ran on late near the outside for fourth after settling third last and three wide from gate 10. He remains a winner in waiting at this level. Setanta came from last for fifth. He should find his mark shortly in this grade over the Valley 1,650m. Flying Wrote was on his tippy toes 60m out after moving to the lead 280m out following a pace-stalking run outside One And Only. Across Da Universe gave up the chase when badly hampered 240m out following a handy run on the fence.

Race Four : (731) - SHOUSON HILL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 MIDORI FUJI (J432) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 ACROSS DA UNIVERSE (J328) J Orman Making the Home Turn improved to the inside of NEBRASKAN when that runner lay out on the Home Turn.

Leaving the 300 Metres NEBRASKAN (B Avdulla) was then shifted to the inside of ONE AND ONLY to secure clear running, resulting in ACROSS DA UNIVERSE then racing tight to the inside of NEBRASKAN for some distance thereafter.

Near the 250 Metres ACROSS DA UNIVERSE was then steadied when NEBRASKAN was taken in by ONE AND ONLY which shifted in and away from FLYING WROTE (C L Chau) which shifted in.

B Avdulla was reprimanded.

C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 6 WROTE A NEW PAGE (K226) H Bentley Shortly after the start made contact with RUN YES RUN and became unbalanced.

Bumped near the 300 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 NEBRASKAN (J304) B Avdulla Lay out on the Home Turn and was shifted to the inside of ONE AND ONLY leaving the 300 Metres to secure clear running.

After the event B Avdulla stated that after being crowded near the 250 Metres NEBRASKAN did not finish the race off thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 POSITIVE SMILE (J467) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 10 TO INFINITY (G277) L Hewitson Making the Home Turn had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of DRACO near the 300 Metres and as a result made contact with WROTE A NEW PAGE.

Horse No 11 RUN YES RUN (J264) M Chadwick Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by WROTE A NEW PAGE which was taken out slightly by CAPITAL LEGEND.
