Following a speed-tracking run, Mister Dapper drew clear after claiming the lead from Special Hedge 200m out for a second win from five starts after a stable change. He will remain in the grade and might be able to win another. The well-backed Special Hedge grudgingly gave way after dictating the pace from gate 10. It was another honest performance. Fight Time ran on steadily to just take third after a wide trip with cover from midfield. He's racing well without winning. Wrote A New Page stayed on for fourth after a prominent run wide without cover. He had an excuse. The Auspicious just failed to get up for fourth near the outside after making his run five back and three deep with cover from a wide draw. It was a typical effort. Flagship Warrior peaked on his run 100m out after getting all the favours in the box seat with a claimer atop. He's in the right grade but likely needed the outing after an eye injury in January.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (702) - HELENE SUPER STAR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452) E C W Wong Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER and in this incident made contact with WROTE A NEW PAGE.

After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that from the inside barrier and with the horse racing over 1600 Metres he was asked to hold an on-pace position during the race.

Horse No 2 SETANTA (G095) H Bowman Approaching the 300 Metres FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (Apprentice E C W Wong) shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with WROTE A NEW PAGE.

As a result WROTE A NEW PAGE was taken out, causing FIGHT TIME to be shifted to the outside of WROTE A NEW PAGE which further resulted in THE AUSPICIOUS being taken across the running of SETANTA which was steadied.

Apprentice Wong was reprimanded.

Horse No 3 BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215) L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid SETANTA.

After the event L Ferraris stated that, in his opinion, his mount was disadvantaged by settling back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 WROTE A NEW PAGE (K226) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.

Near the 300 Metres made contact with FLAGSHIP WARRIOR when that runner shifted out.

Horse No 9 THE AUSPICIOUS (K004) M L Yeung Near the 300 Metres was hampered and taken wider.

Horse No 10 SMART CITY (J213) M F Poon The tongue tie was replaced at the Start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 SMILING COLLECTOR (G128) A Hamelin A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 13 STORM RUNNER (J452) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 14 FIGHT TIME (H409) A Atzeni Was left racing wide and without cover from the 700 Metres.

Horse No 5 FORTUNE BOY (K098) Z Purton Was a late withdrawal at the barriers when it kicked out behind, got both hind legs caught between the back gates and was found to have sustained multiple abrasions.

The Stewards ruled that FORTUNE BOY will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in a barrier trial and being subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
