Recap by phillip woo
After claiming the lead 200m out following a pace-stalking run from gate three, Packing Hermod kept on gamely carrying top weight for a sixth win from 10 starts and second on the bounce. It's onwards and upwards for him. Dancing Code wouldn't go down without a fight after turning for home a length on top from gate six. He's an honest performer. Young Champion found a couple too good after a prominent run one off the fence. He had his chance but was not quite good enough. Mickley ran on steadily for fourth without threatening the top three after a rails run from midfield. The trip's too short. Specked late, Swift Ascend came from last and widest out for fifth. He wasn't suited by the pace of the race. The Golden Scenery only beat a couple of struggling rivals after making his run two from the rear. Atullibigeal never featured after settling second last after a slow start. He's lost his will to race.
