Race Eight : (685) - SHA TIN CLUBHOUSE 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 SUGAR BALL (H394) K C Leung Shortly after the start K C Leung was obliged to reposition his right foot in the stirrup.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 WITH A SMILE (K136) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, WITH A SMILE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 ACROSS DA UNIVERSE (J328) E C W Wong Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 QUICK CONTRIBUTION (K112) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when it improved close to BULL ATTITUDE.

Horse No 6 RADIANT SWIFT (J425) B Thompson Bounded on jumping and lost ground.
Horse No 7 RATTAN GALAXY (K143) P N Wong Jumped only fairly.
In the middle stages raced keenly when being steadied to obtain cover at the rear of the field.
Horse No 9 BULL ATTITUDE (K305) L Hewitson Shifted in at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Shortly after the start was eased away from WORLD HERO which shifted out slightly.
After the event L Hewitson stated that from a more favourable barrier today he was instructed to hold a handy position.
He said when SUGAR BALL held its position to his inside in the early stages he was obliged to ride it forward to cross that runner which resulted in BULL ATTITUDE settling slightly further forward than intended.
Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 11 BLAZING BEAM (K103) H Bentley Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid BULL ATTITUDE when racing keenly.
Horse No 12 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Raced keenly in the early stages and for some distance near the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from BULL ATTITUDE which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 14 WORLD HERO (J413) A Badel Bumped on jumping.

World Hero was perfectly rated at slow sectionals in front from gate five to land a betting plunge. He was able to build on a win two runs ago in Class Five. Sugar Ball stayed on well for second after a prominent run one off the fence. It was a good effort carrying top weight back down in Class Four. Punted late Bull Attitude just got the head down for third after a box-seat run from gate six. It was an improved performance at his third start. Sight Dreamer ran on steadily to just miss a placing after a one-off trip from midfield. It was his best effort from three attempts over 1,400m. Dragon Sunrise stayed on better for fifth after a rails run from midfield. It was his best run from seven starts with a step back to 1,400m. Capital Legend ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. He wasn't suited by the muddling pace. Quick Contribution left things too late settling last from gate 14. He didn't get a race run to suit. Favourite With A Smile didn't find much when the whips were cracking after a speed-tracking run from gate 13.
