Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (683) - THE HILLTOP IN THE VALLEY 1200M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 AURORA PATCH (K097) Z Purton After the 900 Metres was taken wider for a short distance when WONDERSTAR shifted out to avoid JOLLY COMPANION.
After the event Z Purton could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 WONDERSTAR (J531) J Orman Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid JOLLY COMPANION (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in when not clear as she also then reduced the pace.
Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised she must be sufficiently clear when shifting ground and not to steady the pace too quickly as she does so.
In this incident WONDERSTAR was then shifted out to avoid JOLLY COMPANION and made contact with AURORA PATCH.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 BLAZING WUKONG (K335) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and shortly after became unbalanced when it bumped heavily with RAINBOW SEVEN.
Near the 400 Metres made contact with ELEGANT LIFE when it shifted to the inside of COME FAST FAY FAY to obtain clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 COME FAST FAY FAY (K121) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
Under pressure in the Home Straight lay out and near the 200 Metres L Ferraris was obliged to correct his mount.
After the event L Ferraris expressed concern with his mount's action behind.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, COME FAST FAY FAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 HANDSOME BLOND (K241) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 650 Metres blundered.
Horse No 6 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) P N Wong Lay out under pressure in the Home Straight.
Near the 200 Metres Apprentice P N Wong dropped her whip.
As this was the third occasion this season where Apprentice Wong had dropped her whip, she was issued with a warning.
Horse No 8 RAINBOW SEVEN (K145) K C Leung On jumping was crowded between BLAZING WUKONG and ELEGANT LIFE which shifted out.
Horse No 9 RUNJEET (K276) H Bentley A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 CLUB ACE (J523) A Badel Near the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid ELEGANT LIFE (C L Chau) which shifted in when not clear.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.
After the event A Badel reported that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise during the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) C L Chau Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 650 Metres was steadied away from HANDSOME BLOND.
After the 400 Metres ELEGANT LIFE (C L Chau) and BLAZING WUKONG (A Atzeni) contested a position between CLUB ACE and COME FAST FAY FAY where there was not sufficient room for two horses to improve.
As a result ELEGANT LIFE became unbalanced when crowded between CLUB ACE and BLAZING WUKONG.
Both C L Chau and A Atzeni were advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of WONDERSTAR to obtain clear running.

Debutant Blazing Wukong was patiently ridden third last before taking a gap between runners 150m out and getting up in the concluding stages for a smart win. He's got a bright future. Post-time favourite Wonderstar did everything right but get the win after claiming the lead 170m out sitting third and one off with cover from gate two. It was a good effort. Rainbow Seven came from last to fill a placing. He's caught the eye to place in both starts. Elegant Life wove a run through the centre for fourth after making his run three from the rear. It was one of his better runs from 11 starts over yesterday's Sha Tin 1,200m. Lucky McQueen stayed on nicely for fifth after a wide without cover trip travelling midfield or slightly worse until the 700m from gate 11. It was an encouraging debut effort. Groovy Feeling ran on without threatening after a wide trip towards the rear from gate 12. Early favourite Come Fast Fay Fay only plodded when asked for an effort after recovering from a tardy start to sit prominent along the inside.
