Racing Incident Report
Race Two : (660) - CHAI WAN ROAD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 ALSONSO (J405) Z Purton Bounded on jumping and lost ground.
Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 800 Metres was steadied and shifted in to avoid WINNING DIAMOND.
For a short distance after the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind LAHORE.
Approaching the 250 Metres shifted to the inside of LAHORE to obtain clear running.
For some distance near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving between LAHORE and MOON ROCKET.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) M F Poon Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 4 CHEVAL VALIANT (E336) L Hewitson Over the concluding stages was steadied when crowded between LAHORE which shifted out slightly and STRAIGHT TO GLORY (C L Chau) which shifted in.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 6 LAHORE (K043) B Avdulla On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Horse No 7 MOON ROCKET (K324) K C Leung Near the 950 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by CHEVAL VALIANT which shifted out before being corrected by its rider L Hewitson.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 SMART ENGINEER (K244) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded between PRECIOUS HILL and CALL TO COMMAND.
Horse No 9 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 10 SUMMIT CHEERS (E221) A Badel Slow to begin.
Horse No 11 WINNING DIAMOND (K216) B Thompson After travelling a short distance was hampered when taken out by LAHORE which shifted out.
Horse No 12 ISLAND BREEZES (J479) A Atzeni After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount did not travel strongly throughout the event and, in his opinion, would be better suited by being stepped up in distance for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 RIDING HIGH (J403) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded between LAHORE and ALLURING LAOS, both of which shifted ground.

Well-backed late, Moon Rocket just scrambled in after claiming the lead 150m out for a maiden win at his second start. Favourite Alsonso was unlucky not to have won after jumping in the air at the start and failing to get a clear run until the 200m. Lahore kept on nicely to finish a close third after a prominent run on the stand side. He's caught the eye in both starts over the straight 1,000m and a win is around the corner. Straight To Glory kept plugging away for fourth after a handy run on the stand side with money for him late in betting. It was a pleasing run on debut. Winning Diamond closed off well for fifth after making his run five back on the stand side. It was a promising run on debut. Punted late, Cheval Valiant gradually faded after leading from gate four. He should steal one shortly in this grade. Alluring Laos made some ground late without ever threatening after making his run one from the rear.
